    Description

    Our client, an esteemed Financial Services company, is seeking a Risk Specialist for a 6+ month contract opportunity in their New York City office.

    RESPONSIBLITIES INCLUDE:

    Perform comprehensive risk analysis across diverse portfolios encompassing various mandate types (active, passive, liquid alternative) and underlying exposure types (fixed income, equity, commodity, derivatives).

    Generate and analyze critical risk metrics such as Value-at-Risk, Tracking Error, Liquidity Ratios, and Transaction Costs tailored to specific strategies.

    Craft materials for Fund Board presentations regarding the risk program.

    Document risk processes and assessments for transparency and continuity.

    Contribute expertise to special projects focused on refining the risk framework or addressing pertinent risk-related topics.

    Participate in enhancing risk tools and frameworks for improved efficiency and accuracy.

    Develop Investment Risk materials for presentation at risk oversight committee(s).

    Assist in maintaining comprehensive risk data to ensure up-to-date analysis and reporting.

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in Finance or a quantitative field.

    Minimum of 4 years of demonstrated experience in the financial industry, including roles in Risk Management, Portfolio Management, Valuation, or Vendor of Risk Analytics.

    Proven track record with analytical models for financial instruments.

    Familiarity with risk systems and their application in financial analysis.

    Possession of Chartered Financial Analyst or Financial Risk Manager designations is advantageous.

    Thorough understanding of financial instruments, their analytics, and associated risk factors.

    Strong analytical aptitude encompassing quantitative and qualitative methodologies.

    Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and SQL.

    Desire to work within an international context with exceptional command of the English language.

    Proactive approach to identifying areas for improvement and proposing innovative solutions.

    Knowledge of regulatory frameworks governing asset managers and diverse portfolio management strategies is beneficial.
