We are hiring a Spanish Speaking teacher helper for a Preschool in Lakewood

We are looking for Patient, Joyful, creative and child-spirit team members, not someone that just like but love kids, the classroom age group is 2-3 years old.

Someone that can bring their own knowledge taste and culture to our school and our teaching philosophy

This is for a full immersion language preschool with English & Spanish Programs

Paid Vacation time

This position is a non-exempt status, 39 hours per week, benefited position. Hourly salary is commensurate with experience, years of service and educational background. Employment with Arc en Ciel Preschool is at-will. Arc en Ciel Preschool. is an equal opportunity employer.

Prior to employment shall obtain criminal background clearance, First Aid CPR Pediatric and adult, Child abuse mandated reporting certificate, Immunization for MMR, TDAP, Influenza and a TB Clearance

QUALIFICATIONS:


  • Every teacher helper need to be fully qualified : 12 core semester units in Early Childhood Education (ECE)
  • NON NEGOTIABLE
  • Must have a minimum of six months' experience teaching School Age children or Infant/Toddler/Preschool children in a child care setting
  • Proven ability to work effectively and professionally with adult staff, parents, and childrenDemonstrated skills in effective communication, both written and verbal
  • A love for children and a strong desire to make a difference every day
  • Ability to build relationships with families and coworkers and create a dynamic environment where play and learning happens
  • Outstanding customer service skills, strong organizational skills, and the ability to multitask and manage multiple situations effectively
  • CPR and First Aid Certification
  • Must meet state specific guidelines for the role
  • Must be physically able to use a computer with basic proficiency, lift a minimum of 40 pounds, and work indoors or outdoors
  • Must be able to assume postures in low levels to allow physical and visual contact with children, see and hear well enough to keep children safe, and engage in physical activity with children
  • Ability to speak, read, and write English
*Minimum qualifications:

  • Communication skills: Preschool staff need good communication skills to tell parents and colleagues about students' progress. They need good writing and speaking skills to convey this information effectively. They must also be able to communicate well with small children.
  • Creativity: Preschool staff must plan lessons that engage young students. In addition, they need to adapt their lessons to suit different learning styles.
  • Interpersonal skills: Preschool staff must understand children's emotional needs and be able to develop good relationships with parents, children, and colleagues.
  • Organizational skills: Preschool staff need to be organized to plan lessons and keep records of their students.
  • Patience: Preschool staff should be able to respond calmly to overwhelming and difficult situations.
  • Physical stamina: Working with children can be physically taxing, so preschool staff should have a lot of energy.

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
Under the Lead Teacher's Supervision and Leadership

  • Duties and responsibilities assigned by Lead Teacher
  • Every aid need to have completed 6 units of early childhood education
  • They are to work in harmony under the direction of the lead teacher
  • Work for the teachers, listen to them
  • Teacher is their superior in the classroom
  • Any major conversation or problem that arises with parents they need to contact director or lead teacher
  • Only teacher and director can exclude child due to illness
  • Oversees daytoday operation of the classroom; including maintaining a harmonious and efficient
work environment, ensuring daily schedule is followed, etc.

  • Assists in maintaining and providing periodic testing of emergency response plans.
Continues to develop a professional self.

  • Able to lift 40 lbs.
Other responsibilities as assigned.
