    The Systems Engineer is part of the Infrastructure Engineering team at Granicus. The team supports and maintains infrastructure hardware, software, and critical systems with a focus on security, availability, and scalability.

    The ideal candidate is an excellent Linux system administrator with significant enterprise experience designing and supporting a Linux-based infrastructure in a multi-cloud environment.


    What You'll Do:
    Follow infrastructure team processes and actively seek to improve them, especially as it relates to implementing automation of repeatable tasks
    Identify and fix problem areas in the existing Linux OS and DNS infrastructure
    Execute quality changes, perform code and change request reviews
    As part of an on-call team, triage and troubleshoot efficiently and effectively during production incidents
    Ensure system resources and assets are logged and monitored along with appropriate actions for events
    Analyze log files and other infrastructure data using available tools
    Develop documentation to empower other team members and accurately represent projects and procedures
    Plan for and install new software/firmware releases and hardware/software upgrades to meet security and supportability requirements
    Act as a point of escalation for other Linux Systems Engineers
    Manage regular patching and other activities to address security vulnerabilities

    Who You Are:
    You have 5+ years of relevant experience in Linux system administration
    You have 3+ years of experience scripting / and automating repeatable tasks (e.g., Bash, Python, Ansible, Terraform, Git, PowerShell)
    You have 3+ years of relevant experience in DNS administration

    You have specific technical experience with:
    automated updating/patching of Linux-based systems
    SSL certificates and certificate management
    2 or more different Linux distributions
    You have experience working to comply with security frameworks such as ISO 27001, NIST and/or FedRAMP
    You have worked in a large enterprise environment, providing Linux and DNS support
    You are passionate about technology and keep abreast of technical developments in your field
    You are a motivated self-starter capable of picking up work on your own
    You are a proven technical leader, capable of identifying problems and then designing, and implementing solutions

    Specific System Experience:
    The ideal candidate has some level of experience with the following infrastructure technologies (bonus if your experience matches the specific products at Granicus in parenthesis):
    Linux OS (RHEL, Amazon Linux, Ubuntu, CentOS)
    Container systems (Docker, Kubernetes, EKS)
    DNS and IP Management (Infoblox)
    System monitoring tools (ELK, LogicMonitor)
    Virtualization (VMware)
    Cloud computing (AWS,Azure)
    Server hardware (Cisco UCS)
    Security and Privacy Requirements


    Responsible for Granicus information security by appropriately preserving the Confidentiality, Integrity, and Availability (CIA) of Granicus information assets in accordance with the company's information security program.

    Responsible for ensuring the data privacy of our employees and customers, their data, as well as taking all required privacy training in a timely manner, in accordance with company policies.
