THE POSITION:

Join the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) as we strive to protect Pennsylvania's air from pollution and provide for the health and safety of our citizens through a cleaner environment.
DESCRIPTION OF WORK:
In this role, you will be responsible for carrying out professional, technical, and administrative tasks related to the Air Quality compliance and enforcement program.
This program is associated with the Federal Clean Air Act (CAA), Pennsylvania's Air Pollution Control Act (APCA), and the regulations established under these acts.
Your duties will involve collaborating with the Department of Environmental Protection's (DEP) regional air program staff and the U.S.Environmental Protection Agency's (EPA) staff to ensure the effective implementation of the relevant provisions of the CAA, APCA, and associated policies and guidance.
Additionally, you will play a key role in policy development, program implementation, tracking enforcement actions, and providing interpretations of the APCA and its implementing regulations in consultation with legal counsel.

- Fulltime employment
- Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday
- Friday, with 30minute lunch.
Telework:You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time up to 3 days a week. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY:
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- Two years of experience as an Air Quality Specialist;
or - One year of experience as an Air Monitoring Program Supervisor;
or - Three years of professional work in the control and abatement of air pollution and a Bachelor's Degree in Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Engineering, or an environmental field closely related to Air Quality Management;
or: - An equivalent combination of experience and/or training.
Special Requirement:
- This position requires possession of a valid Pennsylvania driver's license.
Other Requirements:
- PA residency requirement is currently
waived for this title. - You must be able to perform essential job functions.
