JOB PURPOSE:

Develops manufacturing process documentation, including but not limited to: Bills of Material, Routers, Work Instructions and Internal Specifications.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:


  • Creates part specific Bills of Material (BOM) reflecting accurate material specifications, usage and structure to support production process.
  • Creates part specific production Routers reflecting sequenced operations including any specifications, notes or other requirements necessary to produce quality parts.
  • Creates work instructions for specific parts and/or processes to clearly and accurately reflect production processes necessary to produce quality products.
  • Audits manufacturing process documentation and assists in problem solving and continuous improvement.
  • Utilizes available information and data supplied by various sources, including Customer Service, Estimating and the customer.
  • Reviews and approves documentation prior to release into the production process.
  • Makes necessary changes to master planning files as required in accordance with internal and external requirements.
  • Reviews and approves necessary changes to jobs already released and in production with an update on internal schedule system.
  • Quickly and accurately resolves any issues with production documentation to ensure customer expectations of ontime delivery and quality are met.
  • Create work orders using company ERP system.
  • Downloads and/or receives engineering data (Drawings, CAD files, ECO/ECNs, Specifications, etc.) from estimating and/or directly from customers.
  • Manages received electronic data to prevent accidental or inappropriate use and ensures only correct versions of files are used for production.
  • May communicate directly with customers to assist with or clarify design and manufacturing issues and/or conflicting information.
  • Generates internal documentation and electronic files as needed for manufacturing and inspection purposes.
  • Commitment to all safety policies and regulations at all times.
  • Individual is expected to continually contribute innovative ways of improving department processes in order to increase job quality and efficiency.
  • Identifies and reports negative or positive risks associated with responsible processes, products, procedures, people, infrastructure or environment.
  • Other duties may be assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:


  • Associates or Bachelor's degree in engineering or programming preferred.
  • Understanding of sheet metal manufacturing and/or CNC machining processes is critical.
  • Proficient in Excel and VBA.
  • High school diploma, GED or equivalent work experience required.
  • Must work well under pressure to meet deadlines.
  • Must maintain confidentiality of workrelated information and materials.
  • Knowledge of CNC processes and machine tools.

SKILLS / ABILITIES:


  • Excellent computer skills required.
  • Able to read and understand engineering drawings/blueprints and technical specifications. Familiar with GD&T.
  • Thoroughly familiar with material properties related to sheet metal and machine shop fabrication.
  • Excellent math and written/verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent reading comprehension skills.
  • Good active listening skills.
  • Must have good problemsolving skills.
  • Must have good organizational and planning skills.
  • Ability to read and write complex spreadsheets.
  • Knowledge of safety measures pertinent to each job assignment.
  • Must establish and maintain effective working relationships.
  • Ability to work in a diverse environment and be sensitive to issues of diversity and inclusion.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:


While performing duties of this job, the employees is regularly required to sit, stand and walk for extended periods of time.

Must be able to lift _ pounds. Prolonged viewing of computer monitors and screens. Repetitive motion (use of mouse and keyboard). Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.


WORK ENVIRONMENT:

Use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) or protective gear may be required. Occasionally exposed to risk outside diameter (OD) electrical shock.

Occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts, humid condition, fumes or airborne particles, flying metal burrs and chips and possible chemical irritants such as water-based coolants, hydraulic oils, degreasing soap and mineral spirit.

Occasionally exposed to uncomfortable cold or heat.
