Position Summary:


This position reports to the Parts Sales Manager and/or the Operations Manager and is responsible for handling incoming equipment, parts and supplies sales calls, and walk-in customers.

May also be required to occasionally provide emergency after hours service duties. Other job-related tasks deemed necessary and/or assigned by supervisor.


Key Duties and Responsibilities:


  • Assist customers with research, pricing, and availability information on HVAC/R parts/supplies pertaining to equipment lines (Carrier, and/or Bryant, Payne, and Air Flow Supply) & related replacement parts
  • Sell generic parts and supplies used on competitor and nonstocked brands
  • Enter sales orders, stock showroom, pull orders, and handle occasional warranty administration of parts
  • Process vendor product returns
  • Assist in marketing products by providing sales flyers, catalogs, and technical assistance at the counter to include assisting with giveaways of promotional items
  • Manage inventory in showroom or parts counter
  • Sell full line of sheet metal and air flow supplies
  • Process new and unused credits
  • Take and process equipment orders for walkin or callin customers
  • Access warehouse as needed
  • Operate forklift when necessary (requires proper credentials)
  • Foster a safe working environment with goals of zero lost time and zero recordable incidents
  • Participate in safety training
  • This position has been designated as a safety sensitive position

Critical Knowledge and Skills:


  • Enthusiastic and sales driven
  • Good interpersonal skills to deal effectively with customers and employees
  • Familiar with purchase orders, sales, and shipping
  • Minimum intermediate level Microsoft Word and Excel skills
  • Sage and EPIC experience a plus
  • Knowledge of heating, air conditioning, and sheet metal operation and HVAC terminology is a plus
  • Organizational skills and strong attention to details
  • Reliable with ability to respond effectively to daily issues
  • Work in a fastpaced sales environment
  • Work in a constant state of alertness and safe manner

Physical Requirements/Ability:

Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. to stock and pull parts. Position requires lifting, stooping, bending, twisting and some prolonged standing and walking. May require long periods of time using computers and phones during busy periods.


Education and Experience:


  • High school diploma or GED
  • 24 years counter experience preferred
  • 24 years HVAC industry experience preferred
