    Description
    Assistant General Counsel Position at Baltimore City Department of Public Works
    • Under the direction of the Deputy General Counsel, provide legal counsel on a variety of subject areas
    • Collaborate to address legal issues and ensure compliance
    • Conduct contract reviews, legal research, litigation, negotiations, and document drafting
    • Investigate facts, develop litigation strategies, and respond to changes in policy
    Education and Experience Requirements

    EDUCATION: Law degree from an accredited law school

    EXPERIENCE: Minimum 1 year experience in trial/litigation work or related areas

    Admission to the Bar of the State of Maryland required

    Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
    • Strong academic or professional performance as an attorney
    • Proficiency in litigation, legal research, and writing
    • Ability to analyze and apply laws effectively, excellent communication skills
    • Establish and maintain relationships with stakeholders, leadership, and ensure compliance
    • Preferred knowledge of municipal financing/bonds
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and legal research platforms
