- High school diploma or general education degree (GED) AND five (5) years of network design experience OR a Bachelor's degree (B.A. or B.S.) in Management Information Systems, or related field AND three (3) years of experience in network design. Related experience to include the following: Systems Architecture, IT management, IT Security and Infrastructure, System Administration and Software Development. The following experience will apply in lieu of any degree as follows:
- Two (2) years of direct experience for an Associate Degree
- Four (4) years of direct experience for a Bachelor's Degree
- Six (6) years of direct experience for a Master's Degree
- Must have a valid Florida driver's license.
- Must attend and successfully complete the agency sponsored Law Enforcement Vehicle Operations (LEVO) Training if assignment includes driving an agency vehicle. Use of agency vehicle would require appropriate driving history and passing agency biennial driver's physical exam. Depending on assignment, may be required to be FCIC/NCIC certified within one (1) year of accepting position. Cisco or Network + certification preferred.

- Ability to facilitate the installation, modification, and/or removal of data network planning and design activities.
- Ability to provide technical expertise and administrative documentation to support the availability and integrity of the network.
- Ability to perform capacity planning functions by identifying, forecasting, and reporting network data that could improve network utilization and resources.
- Ability to Identify and resolve complex networking problems and provides guidance to others within the section.
- Ability to establish or provide modifications to the Network Standards for the agency. Defines functional and technical specifications.
- Ability to coordinate and oversee testing, evaluating, and selecting new hardware/software technologies or products.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS & ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Responsible for network analysis and design, technical assistance, and project management of data communications.
IT Network Architects perform the most advanced professional and technical work with the Information Management Services section. IT Network Architects perform as the highest level subject matter experts in network design and implementation. IT Network Architects are expected to identify and resolve the most complex network problems as well as provide guidance to others within the section. #oj
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND ABILITIES:
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk, hear, and also sit and work on the computer for long periods of time. The employee is occasionally required to stand and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, or use hands to handle or feel. The employee may occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and may have to assist someone lifting up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and the ability to adjust focus.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
The employee must be able to work in remote locations within Orange County and possibly outside of Orange County. The employee will be working with computer related equipment and may occasionally be exposed to the risk of electrical shock. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Depending on assignment, may be required to occasionally work evenings and/or weekends. The employee is required to support the agency's emergency operations during a critical incident and may be recalled. The employee may also be assigned to a technical team in order to support the agency during a critical incident.
