Assistant Deli Manager
FULL-TIME
$15.25/hr
Responsible for the receiving product and ensures thataisles/freezers and refrigerators are stocked, labeled, clean anddelivered product is packed out, and proper customer service isprovided. 50% or more of the job is manual labor.
Essential Functions:
- Ensure proper customerservice and works to develop relationships with largecustomers.
- Supervises and works together with DeliSupervisor (if applicable) and Stocker/s to assure that shelves arestocked and merchandise is rotated.
- Assists indeveloping schedules, monitors performance and recommends theproper discipline as appropriate including termination.
-Trains employees in job responsibilities and safe operatingprocedures and interviews candidates and recommends forhires.
- Ensures that employees are performing the properinspections to meet HACCP regulations as well as conductingperiodic HACCP audits.
- Reviews inventory for productrotation on a daily basis to prevent shrinkage anddamages.
- Ensures that shelf pricing is correct andreflects the most recent pricing and market conditions.
-Supervises and works alongside the Stocker/s in the receiving ofall deli products and ensures that the proper paperwork iscompleted.
- Maintains accurate computer inventory levelsby having physical inventories performed on a regular basis andadjustments made.
- Maintains refrigerated equipment andmakes sure maintenance contracts and schedules arefollowed.
- Supervises the ordering of deli products fromvendors on a regular basis to assure we have competitive pricingand minimal shrink due to spoilage and not have too much inventoryon hand.
- Makes sure all the employees in the departmentcan work the equipment such as Toledo scale and Dennison labelmachine.
- Coordinates that the pallets stored in theracks have the proper block and date tags.
- Followsprogram to maintain the cleanliness of the area by a regularmaintenance schedule of scrubbing, and pulling out pallets andcleaning underneath.
