Assembly Technician**

SUMMARY:
The incumbent in this position assists in the process of assembling custom fiber optic devices. Regular working hours include Monday - Friday, 8:00 am - 4:30 pm. Overtime pay is time and a half and is available when pre-approved by your manager. Paid time off, paid holidays, Medical/Dental, retirement options available.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Performs assembly of custom fiber optic devices.
- Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications
- Manually assemble fiber optics and other components
- Ensure completed assembly and its components meet specified requirements
- Prepare finished assembly for shipment labelling, packaging, etc.
- Continuous process improvement
- Help maintain a safe work environment
- Performs other related duties as assigned by management.
ABILITIES AND REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE:
- Able to read and interpret schematics & assembly drawings
- Excellent handeye coordination and manual dexterity
- Able to bend and lift weight of up to 23 kg (50lbs)
- Able to sit or stand for extended periods of time (with neck bent forward)
- Able to concentrate when performing tasks that require accuracy
- Operation of desktop computer and peripherals
- Selfmotivated team player with strong problemsolving skills
- Well organized and able to work within time constraints
- Able to multitask

QUALIFICATIONS:
- No prior experience or training. On the job training with great growth potential.
- Prefer not required:
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED), or one to three months related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Experience in manufacturing and/or fiber optics is a plus

From $15.00 per hour
