JOB TITLE:
Assembly Technician**

SUMMARY:
The incumbent in this position assists in the process of assembling custom fiber optic devices. Regular working hours include Monday - Friday, 8:00 am - 4:30 pm. Overtime pay is time and a half and is available when pre-approved by your manager. Paid time off, paid holidays, Medical/Dental, retirement options available.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Performs assembly of custom fiber optic devices.
Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications
Manually assemble fiber optics and other components
Ensure completed assembly and its components meet specified requirements
Prepare finished assembly for shipment labelling, packaging, etc.
Continuous process improvement
Help maintain a safe work environment
Performs other related duties as assigned by management.

ABILITIES AND REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE:

Able to read and interpret schematics & assembly drawings
Excellent handeye coordination and manual dexterity
Able to bend and lift weight of up to 23 kg (50lbs)
Able to sit or stand for extended periods of time (with neck bent forward)
Able to concentrate when performing tasks that require accuracy
Operation of desktop computer and peripherals
Selfmotivated team player with strong problemsolving skills
Well organized and able to work within time constraints
Able to multitask

QUALIFICATIONS:

No prior experience or training. On the job training with great growth potential.
Prefer not required:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED), or one to three months related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Experience in manufacturing and/or fiber optics is a plus

Pay:
From $15.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
