    Data Engineer – Senior Consultant

    The Data Engineer Senior Consultant is responsible for designing and building data pipelines for BI and reporting purposes, leveraging industry standard ETL and Data Warehousing technologies. The candidate should understand data structures and have the ability to write technical documentation, outlining the approach and architecture of the solution. The Senior Consultant will work independently but also collaborate with peers on the project team to achieve desired outcomes for our clients, which includes participating in status updates, raising awareness to issues and risks, and identifying both upstream and downstream complexities in the solution.

    RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Participates in requirements gathering sessions with clients while understanding needs from the lens of a data expert
    • Understands data sources and determines approach to acquire data efficiently
    • Designs and documents data integration specifications
    • Implements solutions based on data requirements using ETL and Data Warehousing technologies
    • Develops, maintains, and supports data pipeline processes
    • Manages intake of new reporting and analytics requests from receipt through delivery

    SKILLS TO BE SUCCESSFUL:

    • 3-5 years' work experience in a data-centric role
    • Excellent written and oral interpersonal skills
    • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines
    • Keen attention to detail
    • Proven analytical, evaluative, and problem-solving abilities
    • Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment
    • Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment

    A QUALIFIED CANDIDATE WILL HAVE:

    • Bachelor's or Master's degree
    • Professional work experience with ETL / ELT and Database design / administration using tools such as Alteryx, Matillion, Snowflake, Azure SQL Server, and AWS Redshift
    • Strong SQL experience required
    • In depth knowledge and understanding of data architecture concepts
    • Data Visualization skills a plus (Tableau & Power BI preferred)
    • Proficiency with programming language such as Python, C++, etc. a plus
    • Knowledge of Big Data technologies such as Hadoop, Hive, Spark, etc. a plus
    • Experience with Azure or AWS platforms a plus
    • Understanding of Agile Best Practices
