- Operate and monitor the performance of sophisticated equipment used in the care of complicated obstetrical patients, including, but not limited to, electronic fetal monitors, hemodynamic monitoring equipment, cardiac monitors, EKG machines etc.
- Administer a wide variety of rapid-acting, highly potent medications (direct intravenous and other routes).
- Plan, direct, and coordinate total patient care activities and foster multi-disciplinary involvement by other intra and interdepartmental services.
- Provide highly specialized nursing care to the complicated and routine laboring, perioperative, and post anesthesia obstetrical patient and newborn.
- Function as a Nurse in Charge on a shift or Primary Nurse responsible for direct patient care and supervision of assigned civilian and military professional and paraprofessional staff.
