Job Description:


  • The Omni Boston Hotel at the Seaport is located in the center of the bustling Seaport District. The AAA Four Diamond rated hotel boasts 1,054 finely appointed guestrooms with 52 suites, seven delectable _dining_ experiences, a scenic _rooftop pool_, a luxury _Breve Spa_, and more than 100,000 square feet of meeting and event space allowing to provide each guest a unique and memorable experience. This role is responsible for assisting in directing and administering the implementation of all safety operations to ensure that the guests, associates, and property are maintained in a safe and secure environment, and that all guest and associate situations are resolved in a timely manner.

Responsibilities:


  • Reviews all reports completed by Security officers to ensure accuracy and timely submission.
  • Reports all observed hotel property deficiencies and safety hazards to appropriate Department Manager, Executive Committee Member.
  • Acts as shift supervisor overseeing security personnel and operations during assigned shifts.

  • Ensures thorough and complete investigation for all incidents incurred by guests and associates (i.e. losses, thefts, accidents). Complete within 48 hours.
  • Maintains surveillance procedures throughout the property.
  • Ensures that all phases of the key control program are maintained, and any discrepancies noted are investigated thoroughly and reported to the Managing Director and Director of Engineering.
  • Monitors all traffic in the lobby, restaurant, restrooms, parking area, bars, and back of the house area.
  • Ensures that all hotel service levels are maintained and aids when necessary.
  • Acts as the hotel representative when resolving guest problems and concerns by handling complaints, settling disputes, and resolving grievances and conflicts, or otherwise negotiating with others. Ensures that all details of guest situations are documented and communicated to appropriate department personnel.
  • Liaise with all department heads to ensure hotel associates are adhering to established safety and security procedures.
  • Interview, select, review and train new security officers according to Omni standards to maintain order throughout the resort.
  • Responsible for ongoing Security department training.
  • Must maintain comprehensive understanding of all emergency procedures and radio codes.
  • When necessary, is responsible for administering corrective action with associates.
  • Ensures followup communication and appropriate documentation with necessary departments to ensure hotel property deficiencies and safety hazards are resolved.

uniforms, radios, cameras) are kept in good working condition.

  • Maintains a continual line of communication with the Director and Assistant Director of Loss Prevention.
  • Understands associates positions well enough to perform duties in associate's absence.
  • Assist in developing specific goals and plans to prioritize, organize and accomplish set goals.
  • Utilizes interpersonal and communication skills to lead, influence and encourage others; advocates sound financial and business decision making.
  • Encourages and builds mutual trust, respect and cooperation among associates. Ensures associates are treated fairly and equitably. Strives to improve associate engagement and retention.
  • Maintain a professional, neat and organized appearance according to Omni Boston Seaport standards.
  • Respond swiftly and effectively in any emergency or safety situations. Ensure a safe working and guest environment to reduce the risk of injury or accident.
  • Attend all required department trainings and meetings.
  • Perform any other duties required by department management.

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years security experience required.
  • Previous Hotel/Lodging experience preffered.
  • CPR/AED and First Aid Certified.
  • Able to work nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Must be able to lift moderate to heavy weight.
  • Must be able to stand and walk for an entire shift.
