The Pastor/Chaplain provides a pastoral ministry embodying grace, love and hope to the residents, their families, staff and volunteers.

Assist in serving as a spiritual and emotional leader for residents, families and staff which includes: word and sacrament ministry of the church to the residents, their families, and staff including worship/communion opportunities, Bible study, education, counseling, pastoral care visits, documentation, arranging and/or conducting funeral services, bereavement services.
Works with staff in all departments in administering policies, procedures, philosophy of care, ethic statements, orientation and staff training for the benefit of residents.
Actively participates in the United Lutheran Program for the Aging by attending and giving presentations at meetings and works with member congregations' pastors to provide educational opportunities.
Willingness and flexibility to participate in ELCA, synod and ecumenical activities as required or necessary.
Responsible for organizing support, grief or other small groups to provide pastoral counseling and assessment of resident needs.
Must have a MDiv or equivalent degree, ordination, and be a member in good standing on the clergy roster his/her church.
Experience in pastoral ministry and Clinical Pastoral Education or equivalent continuing education.
Endorsement or eligibility for ELCA's Specialized Ministries and eligible for Association of Professional Chaplains is preferred.
Ability to interact in emotionally charged situations with families, residents, visitors, coworkers and others.
Possesses a willingness to be on call at specified times.
