Mental Health Technician -
Behavioral Health

Available shifts: 7am-3pm w/ EOW rotation, 11p-7a w/ EOW rotation, 3p-11p w/ EOW rotation


DOVER BEHAVIORAL HEALTH SYSTEM is a 104-bed, acute care psychiatric hospital located in Dover, Delaware. We feature individual units for adolescents and adults and offers inpatient acute care, partial hospitalization, and intensive outpatient programs. Responsibilities:


  • Provide direct patient care to adults and adolescents with a wide range of disorders, ensuring their safety and wellbeing.
  • Monitor patients closely and conduct observation rounds, prioritizing patient safety as the top concern.
  • Participate in treatment planning by identifying patients' problems, needs, and strengths.
  • Assist in the admission process, including vital sign assessment, safety searches, specimen collection, and patient orientation.
  • Plan, prepare, and conduct group therapy programs for patients.
  • Participate in hospital codes as necessary for unit safety, partnering with the Charge Nurse to ensure successful shift operations and maintaining an engaging, therapeutic environment for high patient satisfaction.

Qualifications:

Minimum:


  • Minimum of High School Diploma or GED

Preferred:


  • Bachelors Degree in Psychology or related field highly recommended
  • One year of direct work experience in a behavioral health environment including leading groups, deescalating behaviors, and managing multiple clinical diagnoses
  • Experience in an inpatient setting
