About the Department and Position:


The Cayuga Centers Training Department's mission is to provide our staff and foster parents with the knowledge and skills needed to best serve the youth, individuals and families in our programs and our agency as a whole.

We strive to respond to the needs of programs, oversight agencies and stakeholders with valuable and effective training materials, resources and assessments.


The Director of Specialized Training Supports will be responsible for the overall success of combined training needs in all agency locations for both staff and foster parents.

The Director of Specialized Training Support will directly oversee the specialized services offered to our regional offices, medical teams, clinical teams and other areas, as identified by agency leadership.

They will collaborate with both internal and external parties to ensure that staff and foster parent training effectiveness is maximized to meet agency training goals, contractual/stakeholder standards and compliance requirements.


How you get to use your Skills

  • Oversee specialized training areas for all agency programs, locations, and departments
  • Supervise and ensure professional development of the Staff Development Trainer, Regional Office Managers, and other members of the Specialized Support Team.
  • Ensure that existing and emerging training needs are identified and met for both staff and foster parents
  • Partner on a consistent basis with the Director of Staff Training and Foster Parent Training to support both areas with needed facilitation, scheduling, compliance, and any other identified program needs.
  • Develop, research and implement curricula relating to specialized areas within the agency such as; traumainformed care, motivational interviewing, foundations of child welfare, etc.
  • Assist in the development of training programs for new agency locations and programs
  • Utilize technology to implement and assist in the development of LMS courses
  • Collaborate with the Staff Training team to support weekly agency orientation and annual trainings
  • Collaborate with the Foster Parent Training team to support preservice training and annual trainings
  • Assist with ensuring that Foster Parent training and Staff training is in compliance with contracts, subcontracts and stakeholder requirements, specifically for regional office locations.
  • Determine agency training needs and work in partnership with Training Operations to schedule events
  • Ensure training compliance with contracts, subcontracts and stakeholder requirements
  • Meet regularly with Program Leadership to monitor ongoing training and identify potential areas for skill building and both staff and foster parent training
  • Regularly facilitates training for both staff and foster parents, and maintains train the trainer certifications within both areas.
  • Recognize that the agency provides 24hour 7 day/week programs and provide flexible training hours as appropriate to meet staff needs.
  • Ensure trainers' certifications as train the trainer are in compliance for various programs
  • Comply with rules and regulations governing access to Protected Health Information (PHI) under HIPAA.
  • Perform other duties as requested by your immediate supervisor, Associate CEO, or President & CEO

Schedule:


  • Non-Exempt
  • Regular hours entail Monday
  • Friday, 9:00 am5:00 pm
  • Must be flexible to meet program needs.

Experience and Skills:


  • Bachelor's Degree in Education or other related field, and five years' experience
  • Excellent communication, teaching and interpersonal skills
  • Supervisory experience is required
  • Valid NYS Driver's License, preferred
  • Ability to travel to all agency locations as required
