_ Position_


We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Chief of Staff & Director of Executive Affairs (Chief of Staff) to work closely with the President & Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and the CEO's Executive Assistant, on a day-to-day basis in supporting SEPA's strategic vision and operational excellence.

The position will play a pivotal role in coordinating and supporting activities between the SEPA Executive Team and the SEPA Board of Directors and its committees, including preparing agendas and meeting minutes, managing the nominations and election process, and managing orientation for new members of the Board.

The Chief of Staff will also be responsible for coordinating CEO events, assisting in ensuring coordination amongst SEPA departments in relation to potential external events, strategic partnerships, engagements, and communications.

The salary range for this position is $
140,000 to $150,000 based on experience.


Requirements:

- _
_Strategy and Leadership Engagement_

  • Maintain an active knowledge and deep understanding of SEPA's strategic and operational environment, especially emerging areas that present new opportunities.
  • Collaborate with the President & CEO and SEPA Executive Team in maintaining the metrics relating to the organization's strategic plan and initiatives aimed at advancing SEPA's mission.
  • Coordinate organizational key performance indicators in conjunction with the Executive Team.
  • Support the President & CEO's management functions by serving as a daytoday interface with SEPA's Executive Team, leadership team, and internal staff, as needed, ensuring efficient flow of information, effective decisionmaking, timely followup, and highquality execution.
  • Establish priorities for effective use of President & CEO's time, including strategic meetings and speaking opportunities, that advance organizational goals and balance shortterm imperatives with longterm objectives.
  • Represent the President & CEO with key external stakeholders, as needed, and contribute to building, cultivating, and maintaining relationships on SEPA's behalf.
  • Lead and oversee special projects, including select business development and investment opportunities, from inception to completion.
  • Pinpoint and address core issues within business processes

constructively troubleshoot issues as they arise and facilitate collaborative problem-solving.

  • Present to the President & CEO and other senior leaders detailed company operations analysis.
  • Provide a strategic voice in evaluating risks and opportunities and making recommendations on organization policies and procedures.
  • Promote a culture of high performance and continuous improvement that values learning and a commitment to quality.
  • Mentor and develop staff using a supportive and collaborative approach.
  • Drive execution to completion of action items agreed upon by the President & CEO and Executive Team.

_ Board Relations_

  • Support the President & CEO, CEO's Executive Assistant, and SEPA Executive Team in managing relationships with the SEPA Board of Directors, including timely drafting of agendas, coordinating meeting logistics, providing relevant materials, and preparing meeting minutes.
  • Oversee planning and execution of Board and Board committee meetings, working with the SEPA Executive Team and leadership team responsible for all aspects of Board meeting implementation.
  • Develop strategies to leverage Board members' expertise, relationships, and interests to advance SEPA's priorities and goals.
  • Serve as the staff lead for the Board Nominating/Governance Committee and assist in the development and execution of board governance policies and procedures to ensure compliance and effectiveness.

_ External Engagements_

  • Working with the CEO's Executive Assistant and SEPA Executive Team, coordinate the President & CEO's external events and speaking engagements.
  • Assist in ensuring coordination amongst SEPA Departments in relation to potential external, strategic partnerships, engagements, and communications (ex. NARUC, NASUCA, NASEO, NGOs, COP, etc.).
  • Ensure broader, external event calendar, and SEPA participation, is known within the org
