Job Summary:

The Registered Nurse Oncology Nurse provides specialized care for patients with cancer, administering treatments and medications, monitoring patient progress, and providing education and support to patients and their families.

They work closely with oncologists and other healthcare professionals to ensure the best possible outcomes for cancer patients.

Responsibilities and Duties:

Administer chemotherapy and other cancer treatments
Monitor patient vital signs and reactions to treatments
Educate patients and their families on their condition and treatment options
Provide emotional support to patients and families
Collaborate with oncologists and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement treatment plans
Maintain accurate patient records and ensure compliance with all regulations and protocols
Stay updated on the latest treatments and advancements in oncology nursing

Qualifications and Skills:

Current RN license in the state of practice
Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred
Oncology Nursing Certification (ONC) preferred
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team
Compassion and empathy for patients and their families
Ability to remain calm and focused in highpressure situations
