    Description

    Hire Counsel is in search of a Senior Trademark Prosecution Paralegal to work in Los Angeles on a hybrid work schedule. The position is with a top nationwide law firm supporting the trademark and copyright practice. This detail-oriented individual would be responsible for assisting attorneys with the management of foreign and domestic trademark portfolios.

    Responsibilities

    • Prepare and file foreign and domestic trademark applications, statements of use, extensions of time, amendments to allege use, Section 8 and 15 declarations, and other filings
    • Drafting communication with clients and foreign associates
    • Preliminary trademark availability searches
    • Reviewing office actions and summarizing issues for attorneys
    • Performing internal trademark searches and/or initial review of outside vendor search reports and preparing chards and draft findings
    • Drafting filing instructions for trademark applications
    • Reporting deadlines to docketing and docket clearance
    • Client communications, including reporting actions, deadlines, and providing accurate chards of client's prosecution matters
    • Making preliminary evaluations regarding potential specimens showing use for submission
    • Assisting with TTAB proceedings and trademark litigation, including drafting, and filing of documents, maintaining pleadings files and dockets, searching for third-party marks or evidence of use and other related tasks
    • Copyright experience, or willingness to learn

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor's degree—required
    • Required Experience—minimum of 7 years of trademark prosecution experience
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
    • Excellent attention to detail
    • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
    • Ability to work extended or later hours as needed
    • Excellent understanding of Microsoft Word and Excel
    • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and practice group specific software
