Performs a combination of manual and administrative shipping and/or receiving duties which may require the use of hand trucks, forklifts, as well as computers to maintain data for tracking, logging, verifying and reporting.
Verifies quantity, weight, and conformance of materials; prepares records of materials shipped and bills of lading; routes materials to destinations.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Operate a forklift to load and unload nonfinished good materials to the production lines, trailers, docks, drop zone staging areas, and tow trains.
- Utilize RF terminal to ensure proper inventory movement in SAP
- Operate various types of material handling equipment, including stretch wrapping, banding, dock doors and levers, and battery changing equipment.
- Display proficiency in the ETL system, ETL equipment operation, and malfunction/error troubleshooting
- Learn how to work around ETL errors while correctly dropping pallets.
- Install airbags and callin trailer seals when the trailer is complete.
- Scan product into an SAP loading bin and loading using a fork truck. Trailers must be loaded to the proper total weight, axle weights, and side to side weights
- Comply with all shipping safety and quality standards (i.e. inspect trailers for damage)
- Inspect trailers for damage/debris.
- Confirming trailer numbers ensuring trailer is secure and inspecting for preparedness to load.
- Maintain productivity during fluctuation of production demand.
- Maintain a clean and safe workplace in accordance with SCJ policies and procedures.
- Interact professionally and make positive contributions within the team and business environment using SCJ principles.
- Develop and maintain compliance to standard work and standard operating procedures.
- Show adaptability by performing various assignments during the shift.
- Must be available to work overtime as needed.
Required Skills / Experience / Competencies:
- Basic Math Skills
- Ability to follow written direction
- Basic computer skills including Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word)
- Basic hand tools skills
Preferred Skills / Experience / Competencies:
- 2 years of warehouse experience
- Previous PIV driving experience
- Previous practice of Lean Initiatives
- Prior experience navigating a webbased yard management system
- Basic analytical skills
- DOT regulations knowledge
- Ability to perform airbag tasks
- Effectively communicate and work in a team environment
- Manufacturing experience at S.C. Johnson Waxdale facility
- 1 Year MHG Experience at Waxdale
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
Job Requirements:
- Fulltime
- This position will be on 2nd shift Monday-Friday 3pm11pm.
- Ability to complete the essential functions of the job and tolerate the ergonomic stressors of the job. This includes lifting up to forty (40) pounds, standing, sitting, walking, bending, climbing stairs and ladders, kneeling, reaching overhead, pushing, and pulling for up to eight (8) to twelve (12) hours daily
- All of ones' time is spent in manufacturing working environment
at any time with or without notice as assigned by the Manager. The job description
