Preschool Therapy Coordinator
East Setauket. Since 1988 Alternatives for Children, a not-for-profit private school, has been at the forefront in providing educational experiences to a broad spectrum of children from across Long Island, offering special education programs for preschool children.
As our
Preschool Therapy Coordinator, you will supervise related service disciplines including Physical Therapy, Speech Therapy and Occupational Therapy. You will also supervise clinical/lead supervisors which includes meetings, monthly reports and ongoing communication.
Specifically, you will:
- Direct supervision of Physical Therapy, Speech Therapy and Occupational Therapy.
- Evaluate supervisors annually and review evaluations perform by reports.
- Recommend staffing projections and assist in budget preparation.
- Develop a plan with QA Director to assess quality of service delivery (peer review, random sampling).
- Assess quality from student outcome, parent satisfaction, district municipality and regulatory agencies.
- Demonstrate knowledge of the implementation of the creative curriculum in both classroom and individual/grouprelated service provision.
- Ensure IEP goals are written in concert with curriculum goals and objectives.
- Review schedules and ensure daily productivity, which includes makeups of each therapeutic staff member
- Review conference requests for relativity to program and ensure inservice.
- Facilitate/proactively encourage "push in" & "in the school environment" per IEP.
- Ensure ongoing communication, consistency, and compliance across sites; includes regular onsite visits (minimum 2x per month, per site).
- Develop training schedules across sites, with coordinators and supervisors.
We require:

Master's degree; NYS licensure as Physical Therapist, Occupational Therapist, Speech Therapist and/or administrative experience:
Minimum of 5 years' experience in the area of therapeutic delivery essential:- Strong supervisory experience preferred
- Excellent organizational, written/verbal communication and interpersonal skills on all levels
- Computer literacy

Pay:
$85, $95,000.00 per year
