Job Summary:
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- Hires and ensures training for all engineering employees, as needed.
- Organizes, directs, and oversees the schedules and work of employees.
- Provides constructive and timely performance evaluations.
- Mentors, trains, and coach's direct reports to increase competency and job satisfaction.
- Adheres to safety policies and procedures, as well as ISO 9001 standard operating procedures as related to your department.
- Partners with HR for discipline and termination of employees in accordance with company policy.
Responsibilities/Job Duties:
- Manage daytoday activities of engineering groups in Katy, TX and remote employees.
- Provide leadership and vision to the engineering teams.
- Review and approve mechanical, electrical, and control designs as needed.
- Develop and maintain industry relationships, anticipating customer needs and proactively presenting engineering solutions.
- Develop department efficiency goals to work at reducing cost and increasing productivity.
- Represent the company at various industrywide events to promote the status of Mayekawa.
- Coordinate efforts across the company, manufacturers reps, contractors, and customers to develop superior products and propose solutions to problems.
- Aids in the design and development of equipment and systems, and redesign of existing systems to support the efforts of the engineering teams as necessary.
- Travel as necessary to customers or suppliers to assist in technical analysis.
- Generate creative solutions for improving/problem solving operational issues in the organization.
- Collaborates with other managers and leadership to set and assess priorities across teams.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- Thorough understanding of mechanical, industrial, controls and electrical engineering.
- Strong working knowledge of EPR systems (Preferred Epicor background).
- Proficient in Allen Bradley Programming Software (ControlLogix, CompactLogix)
- Knowledge of AUTOCAD mechanical and electrical.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Strong analytical and problemsolving skills.
- Strong supervisory and leadership skills.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software to prepare budgets and records.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in mechanical or electrical engineering, required.
- 10 years of experience in Industrial Refrigeration or Compressed Gas compressor market.
- At least five years of supervisory experience preferred.
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times.
