- Prepare or oversee the preparation of food using established production procedures and systems.
- Determine the amount and type of food and supplies needed.
- Create and assemble food products/ short-order cooks.
- Adhere to sanitation and hygiene standards.
- Ensure proper food storage and rotation.
- Report equipment repair and maintenance needs.
- Correctly prepare all food following standard recipes and brand specifications.
- Follow portioning controls as per brand standards.
- Maintain daily production records.
- Keep work area clean and organized; clean and maintain food preparation equipment.
- Record food and equipment temperatures; complete food temperature logs.
- Perform other assigned duties by the kitchen Manager or manager-on-duty.
- Prepare and serve food for special functions.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills; able to read, speak, and understand English for kitchen recipes, safety, and OSHA compliance.
- Strong teamwork approach to daily tasks.
- Minimum 1 year of kitchen preparation experience preferred.

Status: Non-Exempt
Date: Nov 2023
Broad Functions: Responsible for preparing and portioning food products, complying with applicable sanitation, health, and personal hygiene standards, and following established food production programs and procedures. Responsible for the proper use of facility supplies and equipment such as dicing, chopping, creating sauces for the line, slicing meats on a slicer, and maintaining portion control to minimize loss, waste, injury, and fraud.

The physical demands include standing for extended periods, using hands and fingers, handling objects, and communicating. Associates must have the ability to reach, climb, balance, taste, and smell. Occasional walking, stooping, kneeling, and lifting up to 75lbs may be required. Specific vision abilities needed are close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and focus. Ability to work standing for long periods.
