Description

The beautiful town of Emmendingen, located in the Breisgau region, is currently seeking a new team member to join the Office of the Mayor as a Press and Public Relations Officer.

Your main responsibilities will include:

Assisting in the positioning of the city administration in the media
Providing advice to departments, with a focus on the Planning and Construction department, and ensuring consistent and understandable communication
Writing press releases, responding to media inquiries, and coordinating internal communication within the administration, even during times of high workload
Occasionally writing speeches and greetings on behalf of the Mayor
Organizing press conferences and managing media appointments
Preparing current content for the city's channels, including social media and the city's official bulletin

You are:

A university graduate, preferably with a journalism background (voluntary service) or equivalent skills and experience, combined with relevant professional experience
Experienced in a newsroom, agency, or government/corporate communication environment
Interested in political processes
Highly skilled in writing, with strong communication skills, especially when it comes to presenting complex topics in a targeted and understandable manner
Flexible and proactive, with a willingness to attend evening and weekend events
