- Conducts psychiatric examinations
- Makes diagnoses and prescribes therapy
- Administers and interprets projective tests
- Participates in staff conferences and recommends appropriate treatment approaches
- Assists in developing and organizing a program of clinic treatment
- Directs case conferences. Serves as a consultant to other clinic staff
- Confers with patients regarding illness and treatment
- Assists through consultation in establishing psychiatric programs and policies
- Keeps medical records and prepares psychiatric reports
- Completes other duties as assigned
- HQ is located in Henderson, NV
- Las Vegas, Henderson, Reno, Sparks, Carson City, and Rural Nevada
- Full-time, in-person, some travel required (30% estimate)
- Completion of a residency training program in psychiatry and two years of post-residency experience as a psychiatrist in a psychiatric facility are required
- M.D. or D.O. degree from an accredited medical school
- Licensure as a physician in the applicable state
- Licensed by the applicable State Board of Pharmacy in good standing to prescribe controlled substances
- Possession of a valid state driver's license may be required
- Knowledge of general medicine and psychiatry; current developments in the field of psychiatry; hospital and clinic organization, management, and procedures
- Ability to skillfully diagnose and treat severely and persistently mentally ill patients
- Ability to analyze situations and adopt an effective course of action
- Ability to prepare records and reports
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others
- Ability to maintain objectivity and confidentiality
