$57,607 - $69,128 Annually

This position, in the Pima County Attorney's Office, is responsible for the supervision and management of multimedia projects for trials, depositions, Homicide Panel meetings, and out-of-office speaking events.

The Trial Support Service (TSS) program works with attorneys on a one-to-one basis with trial preparation to help them understand the relevance of their multi-media evidence and how to use it effectively in a trial.

Works with detectives and expert witnesses to develop exhibits to be utilized during their testimony in trial. Provides in-person courtroom assistance to attorneys with courtroom media equipment set-up and troubleshooting.


Duties/Responsibilities:


  • As defined under the Americans with Disabilities Act, this classification may include any of the following tasks, knowledge, skills, and other characteristics. Work assignments may vary depending on the department's need and will be communicated to the applicant or incumbent by the supervisor.
  • Coordinates, supervises, and participates in the activities of the Trial Support Services program;
  • Develops strategies, provides support, and participates in the daily activities essential to the management of the department's multimedia projects for all hearings, trials, depositions, Homicide Panel meetings, and outofoffice speaking events;
  • Works with attorneys on a onetoone basis with trial preparation, and multimedia evidence;
  • Develops exhibits to be used during the trial;
  • Provides inperson courtroom assistance to attorneys, and assists with courtroom media equipment setup and troubleshooting;
  • Provides internal services support for the program by coordinating activities with department divisions;
  • Coordinates program activities with other departments, governmental agencies, and the public;
  • May develop or participate in the development of program goals and objectives and program budgets;
  • Researches, analyzes, and reports on program activities;
  • Coordinates and supervises daily staff activities including those of other Trial Support Services staff;
  • May perform required managerial functions in the absence of management;
  • May perform public relations activities by speaking, giving demonstrations, and coordinating publicity campaigns with the media;

Minimum Qualifications:


(1) A Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with a major in graphic design, communications, or closely related field as determined by the department head at the time of recruitment AND two years of experience working in a legal environment providing audio/visual or graphics technical support for the litigation or trial processes.

(Relevant experience and/or education from an accredited college or university may be substituted.)

OR:


(2) Two years of experience with Pima County as a Communications Specialist, Communications Coordinator, Graphic Design Specialist, or closely related position as determined by the department head at the time of recruitment.Minimum two (2) years experience working with Adobe Premiere, Camtasia, Adobe Media Encoder, PowerPoint, Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, SketchUp Pro, and TrialPad for the development of trial exhibits; Minimum two (2) years experience developing, managing, and presenting multimedia projects; Minimum two (2) years experience working with complex surveillance videos in getting them to play or converting them by researching and investigating specific players and codecs; Minimum two (2) years experience in converting, editing, trimming, and splicing audio and video for trial exhibits and transcription requests; A Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with a major in Graphic Design, or six (6) years of Graphic Design related work
