Summary:

The Fleet and Facilities Manager directs the operation of all Shoreline Group Ventures maintenance and asset management activities at all three of our locations in Bryan, Tyler, and Johnson City, with the primary headquarters located in Bryan, TX.

This includes oversight of Shoreline Group Ventures shop areas, maintenance technicians both full-time and part-time, third-party shops, and vendors.


This position develops routine schedules for all rolling equipment maintenance, certification and training for mechanics and helpers, and ensures regulatory compliance in all shop operations; oversees efficient acquisition of tools, parts, tires, and other supplies needed to maintain Shoreline Group Ventures assets, including management of the associated inventory; conducts source inspections, on-boarding, off-boarding for all new and obsolete equipment, as well as identification of proper specifications for rolling equipment assets.


Responsibilities and Requirements:


  • Health, safety, and environmental compliance for all maintenance employees, activities, and locations.
  • Performance, reliability, regulatory compliance, and general safety of all Shoreline Group Ventures assets.
  • Conduct periodic observations and work audits of all maintenance staff and vendors to ensure quality and safety standards are maintained.
  • Develop preventative/predictive maintenance program for all equipment.
  • Ensure current and accurate records of all required maintenance, preventive and corrective.
  • Coordinate with Operations, HSE technology, and administrative teams to schedule and complete required annual inspections, registrations, repairs, and other asset management activities.
  • Maintains thorough knowledge of pertinent laws, EPA and OSHA regulations, governing property storage and management of hazardous materials, including solvents, flammables, caustics, and refrigerants.
  • Must be aware of the condition of physical property throughout the entire facility and immediately correct unsafe conditions.
  • Performs regular inspections and evaluations of the facility; recommends action items; assists with relocations within the facility.
  • Conducts and attends regular staff meetings and communicates with members of other departments to coordinate activities.
  • Schedules major project work, assuring that adequate staff and supplies are available.
  • Conducts regular inventory of supplies.
  • Assists department director with budgets.
  • Develop and approve shop schedules for maintenance and nonmaintenance activities.
  • Set maintenance and asset priorities based on business goals and objectives.
  • Establishes and reviews standards and work procedures for all associates in accordance with established policies and practices of the facility.
  • Interviews, selects, hires, evaluates, and recommends termination of facility personnel in accordance with facility standards.
  • Orients, trains, develops and supervises all associates.
  • Plans work schedules, hours, areas of work, and job duties to ensure adequate services are rendered to all areas.
  • Ensure that all maintenance technicians are competent to work on all equipment (including but not limited to all OEM and aftermarket components of each truck, boat, and trailer).
  • Manage parts ordering and inventory process.
  • Utilize transportation management system to ensure complete and accurate record of all work performed.
  • Optimize equipment utilization; develop and execute annual repair and replacement schedule to reduce failures and ensure no disruption to delivery and/or routine services.
  • Review processes, identify and implement process improvements as necessary.
  • Controls maintenance costs relating to personnel, purchasing, inventory control, and outsourcing of repairs.
  • Use metrics to track safety, reliability, quality, efficiency and cost control of rolling assets at all locations.
  • Monitor weather and manage severe weather events to protect facilities and equipment.
  • Maintain proper signage and yard organization.
  • Oversee facility maintenance and repairs, contact tradesman if required.
  • Must be available evenings, nights, weekends for staffing needs and emergencies.
  • Estimate 50% of the time is spent on feet.
  • Able to move equipment and machinery and lift 2550 lbs.
  • Have occasional need to perform the following physical activities: bend, stoop, squat, climb stairs and ladders, reach above shoulder, grasp, grip, and turn tools and equipment to perform routine repairs.
