    Description


    Position SummaryProvides safe efficient age specific clinical, reception, communication and guest relations support using verbal, electronic, and written techniques to maintain the operations of the assigned area.

    Essential FunctionsAssist nursing supervisor with patient throughput staffing decisions and clinical operations.
    Oversees the general environment of care, cleanliness and upkeep.
    Establishes, maintains and oversees filing system.
    Facilitates communication and efficient unit operations.
    Responsible for inventory management.
    Utilizes timekeeping/scheduling system as defined I work environment.
    Trains new staff on office protocols and safety procedures.
    Participates in performance and quality improvement initiatives.
    Ensures implementation of business policies and procedures for the daily operations of the department.
    Evaluates daily workflow and assigns tasks to support staff.
    Knowledge, observation and compliance with HIPAA, OSHA and Joint Commission mandates.
    Utilization and management of various IT systems to assist in streamlining data management and sharing of data.
    Customer service and experience during phone conversations and meetings.
    Required For All JobsPerforms other duties as assigned.
    Complies with all policies and standards.
    For specific duties and responsibilities, refer to documentation provided by the department during orientation.
    Must abide by all requirements to safely and securely maintain Protected Health Information (PHI) for our patients.

    Annual training, the UH Code of Conduct and UH policies and procedures are in place to address appropriate use of PHI in the workplace.


    Qualifications:
    QualificationsEducationHigh School Equivalent / GED . Required and Other Accredited Program Completion of an accredited medical assistant program. Required and Associate's Degree or equivalent experience Preferred Work Experience3+ years experience in a health care setting. Required and Experience with medical billing, preferably IDX Preferred Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities Demonstrated leadership qualities. Required Excellent organizational skills. Required Demonstrated customer service experience and PC skills. Required Must have excellent customer service skills, with the ability to communicate clearly with persons in stressful situations. Required Ability to problem-solve. Required Medical terminology. Preferred Word Processing/Data entry abilities. Required Pediatric experience.

    Preferred Patient care equipment specific to assigned patient population; Required telephone; Required nurse call system; Required EKG equipment; Required automated blood pressure machine; Required computer; Required printer/copier; Required phlebotomy; Required word processing; Required database management; Required office management.

    Required Additional Licenses and Certifications Phlebotomy Certification.
