Job Summary and Qualifications:

The Trauma Program Manager (TPM) works with the Trauma Medical Director (TMD) and hospital leadership to assure optimal trauma patient care services, quality outcomes and compliance with standards for Trauma Center designation and verification.

The TPM strives to achieve successful outcomes for all care and programs associated with the trauma service, serves as operational director for all program initiatives and requirements.

The TPM is involved with administrative operations, financial support, clinical services, educational activities, outreach initiatives, and research activities of the Trauma Center.

This position maintains responsibility/accountability for 24-hour day management.


What You Will Do In Your Role:

  • Trauma Program Manager will hold accountability of the entire Trauma Program and Trauma Registry.
  • You will act as a resource person to all patient care areas regarding nursing care as related to the trauma patient.
  • You will manage care by maintaining effective lines of communication with all concerned parties.
  • You will increase community support and recognition as a community leader in trauma care.
  • You will maintain clinical competencies through continuing education and delegates patient care priorities commensurate with the education and experience of available staff.
  • You will be responsible for the management of the Trauma Service program which includes maintenance of the Trauma Registry in accordance with all federal, state, and local guidelines.

What qualifications you will need:


  • 3 years of clinical experience required.
  • 1 year of leadership experience preferred.
  • Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing is required.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing required.
  • Current Registered Nurse License in the State of Texas or Multi-State Compact License (Employees with RN Compact License are required to obtain Texas RN License within 90 days of hire date)
  • Current American Heart Association BLS/ACLS Certification is required.
  • TNCC and PALS required
