    Description

    POSITION SUMMARY:
    The Sr. Electrical Engineer will perform technical and administrative duties relating to production engineering functions and programs.

    The engineer will demonstrate experience in the creation and modification of wiring diagrams, understanding the application of VFD, controls, and wiring.

    They will be involved with the release of build packages for high mix production, continuous improvement, and flow optimization for the value stream.

    The Sr.

    Electrical Engineer will be responsible for reviewing customer specifications, performing the appropriate technical analyses and calculations necessary to ensure field robustness, agency compliance and form/fit/function.

    Essential Functions Statement(s)


    Develop deep understanding of derivative order launch process from specification / order initiation to properly size and build electrical systems.


    Provide support in troubleshooting production issues related to wiring diagrams, harnesses, and end of line testing.


    Create and maintain wiring diagrams and electrical documentation via 2D and 3D software packages.


    Design electrical circuits, wiring diagrams and enclosures for production.


    Failure mode and effect analysis, advanced predictive engineering tools, performance testing and analysis, and agency certifications.


    Collaborate cross-functionally to ensure products are optimized for manufacturability, installation, and field service.

    Actively participate in product team meetings, gate reviews and production meetings.


    Will actively support field service for product and building system issues by analyzing data and information from the field and providing written reports and recommended solutions.


    Supervisory Responsibilities:
    This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

    SKILLS &


    ABILITIES:

    Education:

    Bachelor's or master's degree in electrical engineering or equivalent. MS degree preferred.

    Experience:

    High level:10 years of Electrical engineering experience preferred.


    Skills:

    Specify controls and VFD selection.


    Component sizing and electrical panel design.


    Programming of devices
    Computer

    Skills:

    Proficiency in Electrical schematic analysis and design.


    Proficiency in modeling and basic programming a plus.


    Familiar with Microsoft Office suite products


    Working familiarity with regulatory entities including UL, ETL, NEC.

    Skilled with Microsoft Office suite products

    Certificates & Licenses:

    Not required.

    Others preferred:
    Familiarity with regulatory entities including UL, ETL, AHRI, NEC and ASHRAE.

    Knowledge of design for manufacturability and Six Sigma lean processes.

    An understanding of the elements of product cost.

    An understanding of the elements of project management.
