School of Professional Studies

(SPS) brings a Brown education to new audiences of learners: those focused on development of skills and a breadth of knowledge necessary for professional success and leadership. We leverage Brown's intellectual centers of excellence, rigorous teaching, and developmental approach to learning in a range of programs, including serving students outside of traditional degree programs. We partner with Brown departments, centers, institutes, and schools to develop degree and non-degree programs, and to support the recruitment, retention, and placement success of master's students, including traditional, non-traditional, and professional students.


Responsibilities:


Director of Recruitment is responsible for providing leadership in developing, overseeing, and maintaining effective student-centered recruitment, outreach, and enrollment processes for Brown's professional and online graduate degree programs, as well as its Executive Education portfolio.

The Director will be responsible for developing and implementing a robust recruitment strategy and will oversee the daily operations of recruiters within their team.


The position will work closely and collaboratively with the Director of Marketing and Communications, Director of Enrollment Management, Associate Dean for Academic Innovation, Assistant Director for Online Programs, Associate Dean of Executive Education, as well as the Program Directors and Directors of Graduate Studies for each degree program.


Major Responsibility:

Strategy Development and Execution - 50%- Develop annual and long-term recruitment strategies for Brown University's professional degrees, online master's degrees, and executive education portfolio.- Lead strategic recruitment initiatives to identify domestic and international markets for recruitment and admissions. Design and oversee implementation of outreach strategies for executive education courses to meet registration goals.- Develop and implement strategies to ensure high yield of admitted students to degree programs.- Serve as an official liaison between students, staff, faculty, and administrators; assesses and coordinates recruitment services and streamlines processes in a changing environment- Other duties as assigned.


Major Responsibility:

Data analysis, assessment and continuous improvement - 30%- Conduct ongoing assessment of recruitment strategies to assure effectiveness in meeting enrollment goals.

Make ongoing recommendations for iterative improvements.- Develop, monitor, and track performance metrics. Report data and information to key stakeholders, including senior leadership team, program directors, and staff.- Other duties as assigned.

Major Responsibility:
Staff supervision and collaboration

  • 20% Manage team of Graduate Recruitment Manager and Graduate Recruitment Coordinators to meet strategic goals and objectives of SPS, including responsibility for hiring, training, performance evaluations, and staff feedback. Collaborate with the Director of Marketing and Communications to develop and implement a fullfunnel communication strategy for prospective students. Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:


Education and Experience- Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree preferred- 8+ years of progressive experience of student recruitment and admissions in a graduate or professional school- 3+ years of management experience required- Deep understanding of the current graduate degree and executive education landscape within higher education, especially for online and adult learners.- Demonstrated record of success in enrollment growth for graduate programs- Demonstrated proficiency in Admissions CRM.

Technolutions Slate is strongly preferred- Ability to manage complex projects from start to finish in a fast-paced environment- Excellent time and project management skills- Demonstrated ability to support a community of diverse perspectives and cultures in an inclusive environment.
