- Perform financial analysis and reporting activities to support decision-making processes within the finance department and across the organization.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with regulatory requirements and company policies.
- Assist in the preparation of budgets, forecasts, and financial plans, providing valuable insights and recommendations to management.
- Analyze financial data and trends to identify opportunities for cost savings, revenue enhancement, and operational improvements.
- Conduct variance analysis and explain key drivers of financial performance to senior management and stakeholders.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to streamline accounting processes, enhance controls, and drive efficiency.
- Assist with internal and external audits, ensuring timely and accurate responses to auditor inquiries and requests.
- Stay abreast of accounting standards, regulatory changes, and industry trends to ensure compliance and best practices.
- Support special projects and initiatives as assigned by management, demonstrating flexibility and adaptability to changing priorities.
- Mentor and train junior staff members, fostering a culture of continuous learning and professional development within the finance team.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA and/or MBA is preferred.
- 7+ years of progressive experience in corporate and/or public accounting, preferably within the oil and gas industry.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting standards, with the ability to apply them in a complex business environment.
- Proficiency in financial modeling, data analysis, and Microsoft Excel; experience with accounting ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) is a plus.
- Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret financial data, identify trends, and make strategic recommendations.
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to present complex financial information in a clear and concise manner.
- Proven ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy, with a commitment to maintaining the highest standards of integrity and compliance.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and build positive working relationships at all levels of the organization.
- Demonstrated leadership skills and a track record of mentoring and developing staff members.
