    POSITION OVERVIEW

    Independently perform and collaborate with Food Service Manager and Staff to handle cash accurately during food service sales; to assist in the execution of Food Service Programs at the Site.

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Specific tasks, responsibilities, or competencies may be detailed in the incumbent's performance objectives as directed by their immediate supervisor or manager.

    • Collect and record money into student and staff accounts.
    • Handle all funds as required.
    • Respond to phone messages, emails, and make essential phone calls to parents concerning accounts.
    • Demonstrate extensive knowledge of HACCP food safety guidelines and procedures.
    • Collect and track prepayment of student meals.
    • Maintain a suitable change fund for registers.
    • Conduct cashiering and end-of-day procedures accurately.
    • Support in food preparation, cleanup, and occasionally serving.
    • Monitor lunch/breakfast selections to ensure compliance with Federal guidelines for reimbursable meals.
    • May help in placing orders and conducting inventory.
    • Ensure product quality through visual inspection for customer satisfaction.
    • Perform duties as assigned safely and prudently as instructed.

    KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES

    Education, Licensure, or Certification

    • High School diploma or equivalent.
    • Current Food Handler's Certificate.

    Work Experience or Related Experience

    • Prior experience in money handling preferred.
    • Ability to make change and perform mathematical calculations rapidly and accurately.
    • Capable of keeping accurate records.
    • Proficient in operating computerized cash registers.
    • Familiar with and adheres to all District and Department policies, as well as State and Federal Regulations.
    • Adequate vision and hearing to fulfill job responsibilities safely.
    • Read and write English pertaining to job function.

    BACKGROUND CHECKS

    • The incumbent in this position must pass a criminal history background check.
    • Should be able to acquire and hold a valid IVP Level One Fingerprint Clearance Card at all times.

    PHYSICAL AND TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS / WORK ENVIRONMENT

    • Occasional travel between campuses is necessary.
    • May need to lift objects (up to 25 pounds) on occasion.
    • This position might entail sitting for extended periods, phone conversation, standing, kneeling, stooping, and sustained periods of focus.
    • Local and in-state travel may be needed.
