Warehouse Operations Specialist

Summary:

Under direct supervision from the Warehouse or Branch Manager, this position will be responsible for performing all aspects of the daily warehouse operation revolving around receiving inbound product and shipping outbound product, keeping accurate paperwork including, truck deliveries, stock transfers, LTL and parcel shipments.

Assist in other departments as directed by Manager.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Runs and maintains all applicable reports at the beginning and end of each day to direct workflow, gather ideas, and assess potential problem areas.
  • Performs all daily receiving and shipping functions to ensure customers receive products when requested, accurately and in good condition.
  • Schedule and log receiving appointments.
  • Communicate with purchasing to rectify any receiving discrepancies.
  • Coordinate the daily freight pickup of all transfers and LTL shipments utilizing Freight POP or other 3PL carriers.
  • Maintains and ensures that the warehouse operations environment is well organized, clean, and safe throughout the day.
  • Performs and records results of the daily cycle count process.
  • Safely and accurately pick, palatize, and stage product for shipping.
  • Safely and accurately receive, label product, and confirm condition before putting product away in storage locations.
  • Record condition of all outbound shipments using Load proof software
  • Maintains proper rotation of inventory.
  • Identify any missing, lost, or damaged materials and report them to the branch manager.
  • Utilized dedicated computerized programs for UPS and FedEx.
  • Daily forklift inspections.
  • Schedule forklift maintenance
  • Must be able to safely operate pallet jack, HighLift, and forklift and will be required to be certified provided by company and our policies and procedures.
  • Ensure paperwork has been marked for Hazardous Materials on BillofLading when necessary.
  • Ensure all products are verified and properly loaded and secured for outbound deliveries.
  • Maintains consistent and frequent open lines of communication with the appropriate personnel regarding daily activities.
  • Provides excellent customer service and conducts counter sales from walkin customers as needed.
  • Maintain and build positive relationships with management, team members, and customers.
  • This position requires regular and reliable attendance and adherence to work schedules; this is an inoffice position.
  • Ensure proper warehouse coverage for lunch breaks and any other PTO
  • Assist in the Seed Operations Department as needed, duties include but not limited to
  • Packaging labeling seed
  • Putting finished goods in assigned storage locations

Pull seed orders in a 50-degree cooler

Supervisory Responsibilities:
This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

Education and/or Experience:
High School diploma or GED; previous warehouse experience required.

Must be detail oriented, able to multi-task, and possess the skills required to work in a fast-paced environment where a high level of pressure and stress due to constant changes may be involved.


Language Skills:
Must be able to read and write in English, clear and effective communication is required. Must be able to maintain open lines of communication with immediate supervisor and other branch employees.


Mathematical/Writing Skills:
Must possess basic mathematical and computation skills; Must be able to operate a calculator.


Computer Skills:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must have basic Microsoft Office Suite knowledge and the ability to operate the in-house inventory management software and exposure to the concept of integrated computerized systems.


Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:
Required to maintain yearly JJ Keller training, provided by Griffin, for hazardous material and forklift safety and certifications.

The employee will be required to perform all warehouse duties, which involve heavy lifting and bending up to 100lbs.
