    TITLE: QA Manager

    DEPARTMENT: Quality Assurance

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:

    Quality Manager

    Responsible for the implementation of policies and procedures to ensure adherence to production quality standards. Monitors and audits processes, materials and subcontracted components meet requirements, and product testing against established standards and conducts a continuous analysis of quality defects and deviations. Identifies deficiencies or gaps in testing activities and develops solutions to ensure adequate and robust quality processes. Optimizes processes to comply with existing and new regulatory requirements. Reports to VP. Manages subordinate staff, including quality engineer and inspectors in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhere to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions.

    • Managing the entire quality program, including ISO compliance and annual audits by outside auditing agency.
    • Maintaining all quality systems compliance including calibration,
    • Developing and implementing quality standards.
    • Developing and implementing quality control systems that meet ISO standards.
    • Monitoring and analyzing quality performance.
    • Inspecting and testing materials, equipment, processes, and products to ensure quality specifications are met.
    • Collaborating with operations managers to develop and implement controls and improvements.
    • Ensuring that workflows, processes, and products comply with stated quality requirements.
    • Investigating quality issues and assisting in identifying root cause.
    • Developing corrective actions, solutions, and proposing improvements.
    • Completing and approving all quality documents such as none conformance reports.
    • Reviewing codes, specifications, and processes.
    • Must be able to work with managers and supervisors to implement quality measures.
    • A successful quality engineer should have excellent troubleshooting skills and be able to ensure that processes and products consistently meet established quality standards.
    • Perform inspection of incoming parts/material for dimensional, cosmetic or certification non-conformances.
    • Maintain documentation for all incoming raw material, work in process, and shipped products.
    • Assist with ISO 9001 and 13485 procedures, documentation, internal and external audits.

    Educational and Technical Requirements:

    • BS/BA Degree in quality, industrial, or mechanical engineering.
    • 5+ years of experience in managing a quality department, quality systems and inspectors.
    • Proven experience in successful ISO audits with outside auditing companies.
    • Proficient with Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T)
    • Experience in reviewing and approving C of C's
    • Knowledge of ASTM-- American Society for Testing and Materials specifications
    • Knowledge of MIL standards a plus
    • ASQ certification preferred.
    • Proficient at reading and interpreting mechanical drawings. Ability to read and understand blueprints and machining drawings interpreting to ASME Y14-5.
    • Capability to use all standard measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, go/no-go and thread gages.
    • CMM experience a plus
    • Proficient with MS Word, Excel, Power point, MS Project a plus.
    • Strong background in inspection of parts in accordance with work orders, specifications and tolerances.
