Position Summary:

The CSV Cardiologist is a Board Eligible or Board-Certified physician focused on providing general Cardiology outpatient services. The physician must demonstrate experience working in a diverse environment and be flexible, knowledgeable, and compassionate towards the care of patients. The incoming referrals to the Cardiology service will be serving our 20+ primary care centers.

Essential Functions:

• Conduct comprehensive evaluations, diagnosis, and treatment of patients with cardiovascular conditions in the outpatient setting.
• Manage a diverse caseload of cardiac patients, including those with hypertension, heart failure, arrhythmias, coronary artery disease, and other related conditions.
• Perform and interpret diagnostic tests such as electrocardiograms and ambulatory monitoring as needed.
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans tailored to the needs and preferences of each patient, incorporating lifestyle modifications, medications, procedures, and referrals to specialty services as appropriate.
• Provide patient education regarding cardiovascular health, disease management, medication adherence, and preventive measures.
• Collaborate closely with primary care providers, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, and other healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated and integrated care.
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives, clinical research projects, and continuing medical education activities to enhance patient outcomes and advance the field of cardiology.
• Adhere to all regulatory requirements, documentation standards, and best practices in clinical care delivery, including compliance with CSV guidelines and protocols.
• Completes peer reviews timely.
• Maintain confidentiality of patient information and uphold ethical standards of practice at all times.

Other Responsibilities:

• On a scheduled basis may be required to work at any satellite facility.
• May represent CSV in professional groups
• May Assist the Chief Medical Officer in design, implementation, and evaluation of health care programs/protocols for patients and staff
• Clinic practice of at least 8 patient care hours per week
• Opportunity to work in academics with the Family Medicine/Internal Medicine residency program if interested.
• Other duties as required.

Qualifications:

1. Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree from an accredited medical school.
2. Board certification/board eligibility in cardiology.
3. Current state medical license and DEA registration (or eligibility for obtaining).
4. Completion of accredited residency training in internal medicine followed by fellowship training in cardiology.
5. Strong clinical skills in the evaluation, diagnosis, and management of cardiovascular conditions.
6. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to interact effectively with patients, families, and interdisciplinary team members.
7. Commitment to providing culturally competent care and serving underserved populations.
8. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced outpatient clinic setting.
9. Proficiency in electronic health record (EHR) systems and computer literacy.
10. California Physician's License
11. DEA Certificate
12. BLS
13. Must adhere to Clinica Sierra Vista's employee health policies/immunization requirements or provide a valid exemption request for subsequent approval.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience working in a federally qualified health center (FQHC) or other safety-net healthcare setting.
• Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish or other languages commonly spoken by our patient population.
