Specific Duties:

Encourage residents' personal interests and growth to enhance their physical and emotional wellbeing.
Handle mail delivery, personal item distribution, and associated recordkeeping in compliance with regulatory policies.
Maintain accurate attendance records for all activities and promptly report any noteworthy observations to the Activity Director.
Develop and manage a team of volunteers, keeping track of their hours and contributions.
Assist the Activity Director in planning, organizing, and presenting a variety of activities.
Promote and facilitate inroom activities, such as card games, sewing, and checkers.
Keep the activity schedules up to date.

Activity Assistant Responsibilities:

Plan and execute daily, weekly, and monthly events to foster socialization and relaxation.
Create activities accommodating individuals with special needs.
Handle event planning logistics, including communication, advertising, budget management, volunteer coordination, and transportation.
Evaluate participant engagement and gather feedback for continuous improvement.
Maintain records related to event planning resources, participant interests, and incidents.
Report medical concerns promptly.
Ensure wellprepared events with trained staff, timely execution, and adherence to safety protocols.
Provide participants with event instructions.
Uphold safety procedures consistently.

Qualifications:

Education: High School diploma or GED equivalent.
Experience: Minimum of one year in a nursing facility, longterm care setting, or recreational arts/crafts program.
Job Knowledge: Familiarity with resident needs, games, crafts, and activities; sensitivity to residents' emotions and concerns.

Physical Requirements:

Ability to perform physical tasks like reaching, bending, kneeling, climbing stairs, lifting up to 25 pounds, and more.
