Posting Summary
- Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey is seeking an HR Staff Associate for the University Human Resources department.
- Coordinates onboarding tasks and updates records in the Applicant Tracking System.
- Enters, reviews, and adjudicates background checks performed by vendor.
- Administers remote and inperson I9 Forms.
- Maintains communication with applicants and hiring departments.
- Provides guidance to hiring departments and applicants regarding preemployment screenings and onboarding policies and processes.
- Coordinates preadverse and adverse actions in compliance with preemployment screening and hiring policies and processes.
- Reconciles monthly vendor statements, creates invoices, charges departments, and follows up on open invoices.

Minimum Education and Experience - Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
Certifications/Licenses

- Strong attention to detail.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in talent acquisition, recruitment, staffing, onboarding, policy consultation and advisement, training, and compliance with applicable federal and state employment laws.
- Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources or related field.
- Experience in higher education.
- Experience in a labor environment.
Equipment Utilized
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite.
- Ability to understand Applicant Tracking Systems.
