Posting Summary

  • Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey is seeking an HR Staff Associate for the University Human Resources department.
Among the key duties of the position are the following:

  • Coordinates onboarding tasks and updates records in the Applicant Tracking System.
  • Enters, reviews, and adjudicates background checks performed by vendor.
  • Administers remote and inperson I9 Forms.
  • Maintains communication with applicants and hiring departments.
  • Provides guidance to hiring departments and applicants regarding preemployment screenings and onboarding policies and processes.
  • Coordinates preadverse and adverse actions in compliance with preemployment screening and hiring policies and processes.
  • Reconciles monthly vendor statements, creates invoices, charges departments, and follows up on open invoices.

    Minimum Education and Experience
  • Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience.

Certifications/Licenses

  • Ability to work independently in a fastpaced, changing environment.
  • Overall problemsolving, decisionmaking, and time management skills.
  • Customer focused and team oriented.
  • Strong attention to detail.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in talent acquisition, recruitment, staffing, onboarding, policy consultation and advisement, training, and compliance with applicable federal and state employment laws.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources or related field.
  • Experience in higher education.
  • Experience in a labor environment.

Equipment Utilized

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite.
  • Ability to understand Applicant Tracking Systems.
