- Directly contribute to Chipotle's success on our most visible and highest traffic days.
- Cultivate and disseminate knowledge of reliability/performance best practices.
- Guide and mentor direct reports and the organization on best practices and principles as it relates to performance, chaos, and reliability engineering.
- Direct the development of the reliability/performance engineering strategy, methodology, discipline, and framework to ensure and continuously improve quality, performance, and scalability of assigned products.
- Drive scalable design patterns and implementations that can be re-used throughout the organization.
- Have strong working knowledge of OOAD, design principles such as SOLID and Design patterns.
- Own and drive evaluations and gap/overlap analysis of tools and current solutions/implementations.
- Create and enhance report dashboards for work being performed by the Reliability Engineering team.
- Think outside of the box to understand the various scenarios and configurations that customers use to ensure customer quality is maintained.
- Develop future leaders on the Reliability Engineering team, expand their skills, and embrace servant leadership by removing roadblocks, giving team members autonomy and ownership.
- Work with other leaders in software development, product management, cloud/infrastructure, application support, and data, insights, & analytics teams to help define solution and application performance requirements.
- Bachelor's Degree (BA/BS) from 4-year college or university preferred.
- 8+ years of working experience in an SRE, SDET, or Performance Engineering role.
- 3-5 years of relevant management experience.
- Proven track record of implementing performance, chaos, and reliability testing and reporting solutions.
- Strong desire to build and lead teams while creating a culture of problem solving and collaboration through large-scale engineering.
- Proficiency with cloud technologies (either AWS or Azure).
- Hands-on-keyboard experience in writing, executing, and monitoring automated test suites using various technologies including, but not limited to, Loadrunner, k6, Gremlin, Azure Chaos Studio, Chaos Monkey.
- Experience with observability solutions and platforms including, but not limited to, Splunk, DataDog, Prometheus, Grafana.
- Extensive experience with languages such as JavaScript and/or TypeScript, C#, SQL, Powershell.
- Experience with Azure or AWS DevOps, Agile process improvement, CI/CD pipeline management and automation, NPM, or other package managers.
- Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with all business units.

THE OPPORTUNITY
The Senior Manager, Quality Engineering (Reliability Engineering) will incorporate experience and skills to develop and drive implementation of innovative performance, load, chaos, and reliability/scalability engineering and test strategies and incorporate them into the development cycle within the Agile teams.
This position collaborates with one or more teams and organizations to deliver excellence for all work items within Quality Engineering (Reliability Engineering) across all of Chipotle IT.

A reasonable estimate of the current base salary range for this position is $145,000 - $195,000. You are also eligible for annual cash bonuses and equity awards based upon performance and other factors. Actual compensation offered may vary depending on skill level, experience, and/or education.
