The Director of Operations will plan, direct, coordinate and oversee operations activities at Sun Day Red, ensuring development and implementation of efficient operations and cost-effective systems to meet current and future needs of the organization.

This person will focus on the continuous improvement of key processes such as inventory turns, service levels and profitability.

Additionally, the Director will oversee the communication of Key Performance Indicators (KPI) analysis and improvement plans as part of the monthly S&OP process.


Essential Functions and Key Responsibilities:

  • Owns the monthly S&OP process, including all related supply/demand functional meetings.
  • Establishes, implements, and communicates the strategic direction of the Operations division.
  • Collaborates with leadership to develop projects and programs to meet company goals.
  • Oversees Strategic, Territory & E-Commerce Service teams, providing bestinclass service in each channel.
  • Responsible for the North American Distribution Center workflow along with third party embellishment houses.
  • Responsible for managing inventory levels and meeting appropriate monthly/yearly budgets.
  • Manages MRP and factory scheduling process in support of MTS and MTO (custom) replenishment models.
  • Collaborate with Logistics and DC teams in support of product distribution and service targets.
  • Creates and implements new measurements to benchmark and identify areas of improvement.
  • Manages departmental cost centers, including monthly reforecasts, to deliver against Annual Operating Plan.
  • Manages capacity constrained supply requirements which support service, inventory, and cost objectives.
  • Responsible for the development of SKU level demand plans which align to financial forecasts.
  • Lead Planning System initiatives in partnership with other global planning teams and IT.
  • Establishes vision, approves design, and ensures implementation of Customer Services training programs.
  • Leads, builds, develops, and motivates a strong team of individuals to perform at the highest level; facilitates and fosters a continuous learning and collaboration environment within the team.
  • Performs other related duties and assignments as required.

Knowledge and Skills Requirements:

  • Proven ability to work in a teamoriented, collaborative environment.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
  • Strong English written and verbal communication skills and ability to interact with all levels.
  • Ability to accurately assess talent and effectively motivate and influence others to build skills, efficiently accomplish tasks, and develop leading edge processes.
  • Understanding and experience with lean/six sigma practices, learn and sixsigma certifications preferred.

Education, Work Experience, and Professional Certifications:

  • Bachelors Degree in Business or related field, or equivalent work experience.
  • 10+ years of professional experience in related Operations role.
  • 5+ years of experience managing and developing teams.
  • ASCM/CPIM Certification preferred.

Work Environment / Physical Requirements:

  • Normal office conditions with extensive computer and phone usage.
  • Ability to work extended hours as necessary.
  • Able to work efficiently and accurately in an atmosphere of frequent interruption.
  • Light physical effort equal to frequent lifting or moving of lightweight materials.
  • Frequent travel may be required.

We consider many factors in determining base compensation, including position scope, job related knowledge, education, skills, experience, and work location.

The expected annual pay range for this position is $180,000 to $200,000 per year. Additional benefits, such as health & wellness, performance bonuses, product discounts, holidays, paid time off, etc. may also be offered in accordance with our plans.
