Job Profile:
The
Parts Manager position at Vista Aircraft Maintenance in Van Nuys, California is responsible for overseeing the overall profitability and performance of the parts department.
This role involves ensuring conformity with FAA regulatory requirements, managing inventory, coordinating with vendors for parts procurement, training and mentoring parts team members, and preparing reports on progress and departmental budget forecasts.
The Parts Manager also plays a key role in maintaining relationships with vendors to secure favorable pricing and high-quality service.
Vista Aircraft Maintenance Van Nuys is an FAA-approved Part 145 Repair Station, offering complete nose-to-tail, airframe, powerplant, and avionics care, maintenance, inspection, and repair services.
Responsibilities:
- Ensure profitability and performance of the parts department.
- Ensure conformity with FAA regulatory requirements.
- Oversee inventory management and control, including core and warranty procedures.
- Mentor and train parts team members.
- Prepare reports on progress, purchase commitments, and budget forecasts.
- Implement internal programs for communication, training, work simplification, and cost reduction.
- Coordinate with vendors for parts procurement and negotiate pricing.
- Monitor outside services for ontime delivery.
- Perform receiving inspection of parts to ensure conformity with FAA regulations.
- Process purchase orders and coordinate shipping.
- Maintain certified and traceable parts per repair station manual guidelines.
- Coordinate part status with technicians and customers.
- Perform inventory counts and maintain stock requirements.
- Ensure accurate billing of parts to work orders.
Qualifications (Experience & Education):
- Minimum five years of parts experience in a Part 145/135 maintenance environment
- Minimum 2 years of supervisory/management experience
- S. diploma, college degree preferred
- Knowledge of corporate aircraft parts, such as Gulfstream, Cessna, Bombardier, Embraer
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Strong computer skills

Salary Range:
$79,000 to $90,000 per year.
