University Park Healthcare Center is a 88-bed Skilled Nursing Facility specializing in post-acute psychiatric care.We are currently looking for a Business Office Manager
The Business Office Manager/Biller manages the billing functions of the facility in an accurate and timely manner while complying with federal, state, and local requirements that govern the facility and as directed by the Administrator.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Accurate record keeping of the daily census statistics and payers
- Daily deposits and accurate and timely posting of cash receipts
- Obtaining required authorizations for all services received
- Billing all payers timely according to the schedule provided on the monthly AR Calendar-Medicare, MediCal, Medicare Advantage, Managed MediCal, Workers Comp, Commercial payers and patients and/or patient representatives
- Timely follow up on all outstanding accounts to ensure facility goals are met in DSO, Bad Debt and collection percentages
- Protecting PHI per HIPAA guidelines
- Abiding with all facility policies and procedures including not disclosing user ID codes and passwords
- Working with other Department Heads as needed
- Attending meetings as needed
REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Business Administration preferred; however a combination of education, experience and training in skilled nursing accounting will be considered
Minimum of
4 years working in Business Office for a skilled nursing facility.
Knowledgeable of governmental accounting (budgeting, costing, taxation, etc.)
Knowledgeable of nursing practices, procedures, terminology, laws regulations and guidelines that pertain to long-term care; knowledge of state and federal nursing home guidelines.
Proficient and accurate with data entry and 10-key calculator
Proficient usage of accounting software and Excel for report creation and spreadsheet updates
Must be able to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action
Must be able to read, write, speak and understand the English language
Ability to manage critical deadlines, have keen attention to detail and must be able to work collaboratively across departments to ensure smooth office operations.
Ability to remain calm and professional in stressful situations; deal tactfully with personnel, residents and family members, visitors, government agencies and the public to achieve positive outcomes for residents, families and company goals.
