Duties:


This position is located in the Property and Asset Management Division (PAMD), Office of Logistical Services, Office of the Chief Administrative Officer.

PAMD provides office supplies, equipment and materials, property accountability as well as inventory controls. Provides cost-effective and systematic processes for developing, operating, maintaining, upgrading, and disposing assets.

PAMD oversees the following program areas; Inventory and Asset Management; Central Issue of Uniforms and Equipment; Central Shipping and Receiving; Property Re-utilization and Disposal; Weapon and Ammunition; Lost and Found; and Prisoner Property Programs.


An Inventory Management Specialist (OIS Property Officer):

Serves as an Inventory Management Specialist responsible for the inventory of the Office of Information Systems (OIS) equipment and other assets and tracking the accountable property within the agencies established property management system.

Provide technical advice, and recommendations, on program policies and procedures to manage inventory systems and supply activities. Provide training and technical support to OIS contract staff responsible for storing and distributing OIS equipment. Performs mandatory accountability evaluations, technical inspections, and reporting according to the established USCP performance standards.

Processes and inventory new asset/property orders. Inspect items, review shipping documents, verify, and that confirm items initially ordered are received as purchased. Inspects incoming property and equipment noting discrepancies in quantity, quality, and receipt of incomplete or damaged items.

Receives and enters all OIS rotating assets into automated system before they are available for use or placed in storage.

Creates and maintains Item Master Records in Maximo for OIS property assets/equipment. Install barcode labels on new assets and ensure barcodes are placed on the existing rotating property assets/equipment items.

Conditions of Employment:

You must be a U.S. Citizen. Successful completion of a Background Investigation is required. Must complete a one year probationary period. This position requires a valid US Driver's License. The hours are 0730 to 1600 hours.


Qualifications:

In order to qualify, you must meet the education and/or experience requirements described below.


For the CP-9/GS-11 you must have one year (52 weeks) of specialized experience equivalent to at least CP-8/GS-10 level, which is in or directly related to the line of work of the position to be filled, and which has equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position.

Specialized Experience is defined as experience which includes: 1) independently provide property accountability, inventory controls and acquisition planning; 2) inventory management and automated assessment management system experience and knowledge using the acquisition, receipt, distribution, storage, utilization, maintenance, and disposal of organizational inventory; and 3) utilize performance improvement methodologies to improve the overall management of assets; conducts analysis and uses intensive knowledge of assets to make recommendations concerning standardization.
