Summary_
The Engineering Estimator position necessitates a seasoned professional adept in construction estimating, cost control, design, pricing, and construction management.

Proficiency in BICSI standards, AutoCAD, RCDD, QuickBooks, PlanGrid, Bluebeam, and related software is essential, alongside a strong command of tools like Smartsheet and Microsoft Excel.

Valuable assets for success in this role include robust plan and spec skills, the capability to design based on firsthand industry insight, and exemplary time management abilities.

Major Job Elements:

• Observe emerging technology trends, new best practices and identify new techniques or products to increase company's overall value add
• Ability to work with Operations and Sales Reps as technical resources on conference calls and video to assist with problem solving and explain in detail designs being offered
• Strong ability to compartmentalize heavy workload and adjust to constantly changing priorities on a daily basis
• Required to attend technology trade shows when feasible to advance technical knowledge on industry standards and emerging trends
• Required to maintain credentials (RCDD CTS, etc.) and personal development
• Expertise in time management is an absolute must for this position using ability and knowledge to compress time and improve deliverable response times to Sales & Operations
• Adobe Pro, AutoCAD and QuickBooks experience preferred.
• Working knowledge of Project scheduling software i.e. Salesforce, Smartsheet, MS Excel and/or Visio
• Ability to adapt to multiple personalities and adjust as needed to ensure the audience is absorbing the design effectively
• Ability to use knowledge and experience to problem solve as well as provide creativity for new designs
• Ability to train colleagues to strengthen the overall Engineering and Technical Design Team
• Ability to remain coachable at all times

Knowledge & Skills:

• Ability to investigate and solve complex problems and implement related work improvements with team members
• Expert degree of accuracy and attention to detail
• Expert knowledge of OSP and ISP infrastructure required
• Expert knowledge of Electronic Safety and Security, AV and IP Video verticals required
• Ability to read and interpret architectural drawings and specifications
• Must be well versed in BICSI rules, regulations, and standards
• Must be able to multitask effectively and work in a fastpaced environment with mínimal supervision

Education & Experience:

• 8+ years industry related Technical Design experience required
• BICSI and/or Avixa certifications strongly preferred
• Advanced Proficiency in AutoCAD required
• Advanced Proficiency in Adobe Pro required
• Working knowledge of Project scheduling/CRM software
• Salesforce, MS Excel, Visio, etc.
• Specialized experience with specific AV systems, i.e., Projectors/Screens, Monitors, switchers, control platforms (Crestron, AMX, etc), etc.
• Specialized experience with specific security systems, i.e., card readers, cameras, monitors, access control platforms, etc.
• Advanced proficiency in QuickBooks
• Must be able to type 45+ WPM

Other Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required:

• U.S. Citizen or person with valid U.S. Work Visa who has lived in the U.S. for 3 or more years
• Demonstrate excellent written and verbal skills.
• Flexibility to work beyond regular working hours of 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
• The ability to work independently in a standalone function and to prepare all necessary documentation in a timely and accurate manner.
