    Description

    The **Simulation Operation Specialist (SOS)** plays a crucial role in the nursing education team, ensuring that all simulation equipment is well-maintained, set up, stored, and cleaned for each student simulation scenario. This individual also oversees the student lab, ensuring all supplies are well-maintained, set up, and torn down based on the curriculum. Additionally, they are responsible for stocking optimal quantities of skill lab supplies. Excellent communication skills are essential as they interact regularly with faculty and students. Reporting to the Director of Nursing Services, this position requires:

    • Expressed interest in healthcare simulation and a dedication to healthcare simulation education
    • Familiarity with AV systems software
    • Proficiency in using PCs, the Internet, simulation equipment, and basic nursing equipment
    • Exceptional interpersonal skills and a strong team spirit
    • Preferably, two or more years of experience in simulation within an educational institution or a similar setting
    • The ability to work independently and be self-motivated
    • Individuals with backgrounds such as EMT, LPN, PCT/PCACNA, etc., possess transferable skills, and training will be provided
    Responsibilities include:
    • Provide support in utilizing simulation in healthcare environments
    • Prepare and maintain lab equipment and materials for simulation
    • Operate patient simulators during simulations
    • Assist in training faculty on simulation equipment use and collaborate on maintenance, troubleshooting immediate issues, and setting up and tearing down rooms for simulations
    • Offer recommendations on equipment, supplies, and materials
    • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of simulation equipment catalogs and operation manuals
    • Possibly operate and maintain audio/visual equipment
