Description

Your tasks:

  • Performing nonlinear numerical simulations of the offshore research platform FINO3 under dynamic and fatigue-relevant loading. Special focus on the nonlinear structural behavior of the Gout connection.
  • Development of a sensor system for monitoring construction-relevant parameters (e.g. strains, deformations, vibrations) of the offshore research platform.
  • Conducting component tests and testing the sensor system on a small scale in the laboratories of the Institute of Civil Engineering at FH Kiel.
  • Installation of the sensor system on site on the offshore research platform.
  • Performing load capacity analyses based on inverse finite element simulations using the measurement results obtained with the sensor system.
  • Documenting the measures and results in a final report as well as in publications and at professional conferences.

What we expect from you:

  • Above-average degree (diploma or master's degree) in civil engineering with a focus on structural engineering or related fields.
  • Knowledge in the field of nonlinear finite element analysis.
  • Knowledge in the field of construction-relevant sensor systems is advantageous.
  • Team-oriented and cooperative working style.
  • Commitment and creativity.
  • Independent, structured and goal-oriented working style.
