    Under the supervision of a Mental Health Leadership Team Member, the Mental Health Provider, Generalist will provide mental health services in an integrated health care agency serving UW-Madison students across identities and programs.

    To this end, the Mental Health Provider performs the following:


    PRINCIPAL DUTIES (60-65%):
    1) Provides individual and group therapy services;

    2) Participates in the provision of clinical crisis services and on-call mental health services (during business hours);

    3) Provides campus-based services/outreach including programming and consultation;

    4) Responds to campus crises;

    5) Demonstrates a commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion and to serving under- represented/underserved populations.

    ADDITIONAL OPTIONS FOR DIRECT CLINICAL SERVICES MAY INCLUDE:
    1) Provides behavioral health interventions within Medical Services;

    2) Provides couple/partner therapy services;

    3) Provides supervision of assigned trainees including goal setting, evaluations, and disciplinary action in accordance with training policy and procedures; and

    4) Administers and interprets limited assessment measures.

    ADMINISTRATIVE DUTIES (35-40%)

    1) Maintains accurate and timely documentation for all clinical interactions and consultations;

    2) Involved in the development and implementation of programs and services at MHS;

    3) Collaborates with providers and staff in UHS units and with campus partners;

    4) Follows agency policies and procedures consistent with state mental health statutes, ethical guidelines, best practices, HIPAA, and FERPA;

    5) Attends staff, and workgroup meetings as assigned;

    6) Attends Mental Health sponsored professional development activities;

    7) Serves on internal and external committees;

    8) Other duties as assigned.


    Responsibilities:


    Provides social work services to clients in a clinical or public health and safety setting to support health and wellness.

    Evaluates, administers, or develops plans for clients and refer clients to appropriate resources. Participates in intervention planning of complex difficulties, which may include psychosocial evaluation and counseling of individuals, groups or families. May engage in psychotherapeutic activities under supervision.


    • 5% Performs social, emotional, and environmental evaluations
    • 5% Recommends appropriate individual and family treatment plans according to departmental guidelines and standards
    • 25% Updates case records in accordance with agency and departmental guidelines and policies
    • 5% Facilitates interventions according to treatment plans and organizational policies
    • 5% Facilitates individual and group counseling resources and programs
    • 20% Provides crisis intervention as needed
    • 5% Provides referrals to establish coordinated treatment with community and state agencies
    • 5% Evaluates and assesses difficulties in psychosocial functioning in clients
    • 5% Develops and implements specialized intervention plans to support the needs of clients
    • 10% Provides psychotherapy services to clients under general supervision
    • 5% Participates in treatment programs alongside an interdisciplinary team to diagnose or enhance social functioning of clients
    • 5% May provide expertise, training, and guidance to the community, peers, and/or students

    Education:

    Required:
    Master's Degree in social work or other related mental health field.

    Qualifications:

    REQUIRED:
    1) 1+ years experience in a mental health setting


    STRONGLY

    PREFERRED:

    Experience/Interest in one or more of the following:
    1) Substance Use Treatment

    2) Transgender and Gender Diverse Clinical Services

    3) Trauma-Focused Treatment for Survivors of Sexual and Relationship Violence

    4) Eating Disordered Treatment

    5) Provision of clinical services to students of color

    6) Provision of services in Mandarin

    7) Provision of services in Spanish


    PREFERRED:
    1) Experience working in an interdisciplinary college mental health treatment setting;

    2) Experience in brief intervention and mental health crisis assessment;

    3) Experience providing group therapy;

    4) Experience in consultation and collaboration with campus or community partners and provision of campus-based services/outreach including experience developing campus-wide programs;

    5) Experience with electronic health record systems;

    6) Demonstrated attentiveness to intersectionality & health disparities;

    7) Experience with supervision of trainees;

    8) Experience participating in multidisciplinary teams including medical providers and/or academic faculty/staff.


    License/Certification:

    Required:
    LCSW - Licensed Clinical Social Worker - State Licensure


    Must be licensed, license eligible, or be able to obtain a license to practice independently in the state of Wisconsin within one year of hire.
