Description

The Development Associate works closely with the Senior Director, Donor Engagement (SD) and Director, Individual Giving to provide a high level of administrative and operational support to advance the fundraising goals of the Individual Giving program.

This position prepares donor acknowledgements and other correspondence related to gifts; assists in the planning and execution of fundraising and stewardship events; and serves as a liaison with donors, students, curators, and staff.

This position also tracks and coordinates department schedules, workflows, calendars, and meeting arrangements; handles special projects; and maintains files.

Tracking gifts and maintaining donor, prospect, and member information in Raiser's Edge, including processing mailings, proposals, reports, and invitations will also be a responsibility of the incumbent.

  • Demonstrated excellent administrative and organization skills. (required)
  • Ability to handle numerous tasks simultaneously in a fast paced environment. (required)
  • Detail oriented and ability to perform computer data transactions with a high degree of accuracy. (required)
  • Skill in organizing material and information in a systematic way to operateoffice in efficient and effective manner. (required)
  • Ability to implement plans for meetings and events. (required)
  • Ability to support staff in absence of other supervisors and to maintain even flow of work in the office. (required)
  • Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relations with staff, senior University administrators, donors, students and volunteers. (required)
  • Demonstrated ability in editing and proofreading correspondence and proposals for correct grammar, spelling and punctuation. (required)
  • Writing skills and knowledge to prepare correspondence. (required)
  • Ability to prioritize workload under multiple tasks and strict deadlines. (required)
  • Working knowledge of PowerPoint and Raiser's Edge is preferred, but can betrained. (preferred)

Education, Licenses, Certifications & Personal Affiliations

  • Bachelor's Degree in related area and / or equivalent experience / training (required)
