    Summary:

    The Buyer/Planner is responsible for purchasing raw materials, components, and services to meet the production and customer requirements. As well as creating a production schedule in accordance with MRP recommendations and customer demand to ensure a controlled flow of work and materials through manufacturing This role evaluates and analyzes supplier quotes, negotiates prices, maintains relationships with vendors and production leadership, and ensures orders are delivered and planned on time on time.

    Primary Responsibilities and Duties:
    • Manage operational procurement excellence to achieve objectives for delivery, lead time, and invoice resolution.
    • Demand Sensing and Modelling - collaborate with multiple production teams to capture material requirements, consolidate demand signals, and execute accurate and timely procurement functions.
    • Inventory Planning - Calculate, manage, and audit key procurement parameters (Economic Order Qty, Replenishment Method, Safety Stock).
    • Supplier Relationship Management - Effectively "coach" suppliers to be best in class partners. Work with Commodity Managers and Supplier Quality Engineers to optimize supplier performance. Provide input to sourcing strategies and develop internal/supplier relationships that extract maximum value from the current and potential supplier base.
    • P2P Automation - Be a subject matter expert in Procure-to-Pay automation implementation.
    • Ensure key metric reporting is in place and lead reports in providing root cause analysis and continuous improvement solutions.
    • Ensure that company purchasing practices and strategies are continuously challenged and refined.
    • Continuously evaluate and assess supplier performance reports consistent with agreed to requirements to ensure consistency in quality, service, and delivery targets.
    • Responsible for one or many lower complex work cells regarding manufacturing efficiency, customer satisfaction, and on time order processing.
    • Identifies material and resource constraints and leads their resolution with responsible parties.
    • Coordinates and expedites availability of tooling where applicable and provides workload visibility to manufacturing.
    • Proactively monitor and communicate capacity constraints to manufacturing.
    • Rearranges workload within the framework of customer requirements and work center capacity to resolve constraints when applicable.
    • Reviews MRP messages daily for assigned products and generate work orders to satisfy demand and reschedules as necessary to present the correct requirements to manufacturing and procurement.
    • Ensures on time delivery of customer orders by monitoring and updating work order schedules for validity and accuracy.
    • Reviews and maintains critical Master Data elements that pertain to Scheduling including safety stock levels and order quantities where necessary and reviews and maintains work center data for assigned areas of responsibility.
    • Reviews and responds to all ECR/ECO and QN activity for assigned product lines.
    • Collaborates across functional areas to ensure data integrity in SAP and EtQ document control is maintained.
    • Completes miscellaneous tasks as assigned in support of the larger organization and production goals.
    • Performs duties in a safe manner and observes approved safety procedures.
    Qualifications (Education, Training, Experience, Knowledge, Skills, Physical Requirements):
    • Bachelor's Degress in related field preferred
    • At least 5 years' SAP production planning and/or procurement experience required, preferably in a vertically integrated environment
    • Experience using Power BI and Excel
    • Proven success in a complex, evolving, and high change environment.
    • Experience leading a team with an emphasis on development/coaching
    • APICS certification and SAP Super User experience preferred
