Summary:

Magellan Jets is seeking an HR Coordinator, reporting directly to the Director of People and Culture.

This pivotal role encompasses various facets of the employee lifecycle, including ensuring seamless on-boarding for new hires and fostering a positive experience for existing employees.

By closely collaborating with HR and Executive Leaders, you'll assist in managing employee relations matters, training initiatives, and ongoing programs aimed at enriching employee experiences.

As a valuable resource for the Director of People and Culture, you'll share responsibility in upholding compliance with HR policies and processes across all teams.


Duties/Responsibilities:


Talent Acquisition Support:

  • Assist with background checks and reference checks for prospective hires.
  • Act as a brand ambassador during recruitment events.

Employee On-boarding and Off-boarding:

  • Collaborate with the Director of People and Culture to refine the onboarding process.
  • Facilitate the onboarding process for new employees, including paperwork completion.
  • Work with IT to ensure a seamless equipment set up for new hires.
  • Conduct initial orientation sessions for new hires.
  • Coordinate offboarding procedures, including paperwork completion, metrics, and return of company property.

Performance Management:

  • Support the Director of People and Culture to enforce and facilitate a performance management process across the company.
  • Assist with the annual review process.
  • Support the Director of People and Culture's performance objectives and identifying training requirements.

HR Administration:

  • Ensure accurate maintenance of employee records in our HRIS system.
  • Generate HR metrics reports and monitor data for decisionmaking.
  • Assist with benefits administration tasks and adhoc questions.
  • Collaborate with the Director of People and Culture on human capital related projects.

Employee Relations:

  • Provide support to employees and managers regarding HR policies, procedures, and programs.
  • Assist in investigating employee complaints and grievances.
  • Support employee engagement initiatives and activities.

Compliance:

  • Assist with HR audits and compliance reviews.
  • Ensure compliance with labor laws and regulations.
  • Stay informed about changes in employment legislation and update policies and procedures accordingly.

Required Skills/Abilities:


  • Strong understanding of HR principles, practices, and procedures.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and HRIS software.
  • An entrepreneurial mindset and ability to think creatively.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
  • Detailoriented with strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to work Monday
  • Thursday at the Quincy, MA office.

Education and Experience:


  • Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or Hospitality preferred.
